As Big Pharma, Nations get rich on Covid-19; Omicron is not the last variant

by Leading Reporters January 16, 2022
written by Leading Reporters

While the world is already struggling with the Omicron variant, scientists have warned that this will not be the last variant of the deadly coronavirus to worry the world. As per the scientists, every variant gives the virus a chance to mutate, and Omicron has an edge over all the previous variants because it spreads way faster.

Leonardo Martinez, an infectious disease epidemiologist at Boston University, while speaking to the Associated Press said, “The faster omicron spreads, the more opportunities there are for mutation, potentially leading to more variants.”

Omicron is more likely than Delta to reinfect individuals who have already been infected with Covid. Also, it is more likely to cause “breakthrough infections” in vaccinated people while also attacking the unvaccinated.

Dr Stuart Campbell Ray, an infectious disease expert at Johns Hopkins University said, “It’s the longer, persistent infections that seem to be the most likely breeding grounds for new variants. It’s only when you have very widespread infection that you’re going to provide the opportunity for that to occur.”

According to federal health officials in the US, the Omicron variant is so contagious that most people in the country will be infected, and the pandemic has been compared to a “natural disaster.”

Authorities said they are hopeful that the surge will lessen rapidly, even as Omicron sets new records for new cases.

The Omicron variant, which has numerous key mutations, has spread swiftly over the world and shattered records for new daily cases in the US. According to the CDC, the variant is currently responsible for more than 98 per cent of Covid cases in the US. Also, it has now replaced Delta in less than a month.

Fact Check: Omicron was in Canadian wastewater in November before it was found in South Africa

by Leading Reporters January 11, 2022
written by Leading Reporters

Omicron was found in Nova Scotia wastewater weeks before it was discovered by the province — and even before the novel COVID-19 strain was reported by South Africa, according to new research from Dalhousie University in Canada.

Explaining the situation, Professor Graham Gagnon, director of the Dalhousie University Centre for Water Resource Studies, said that “Our team detected Omicron , retrospectively, in Nova Scotia wastewater in mid-November and will be able to provide further information in the future.”

In late November, the first Omicron case was reported in South Africa.

On December 13, the first cases in Nova Scotia were confirmed, and they were related to a COVID-19 epidemic at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish.

According to the university, the virus survives longer in the gastrointestinal tract than in the respiratory tract, which means genetic material can be identified in human waste despite the fact that COVID-19 is a respiratory sickness.

Since December 2020, the Dalhousie team has been monitoring wastewater for COVID-19 indicators at the Halifax region’s four main wastewater treatment plants: Halifax, Dartmouth, Mill Cove, and Eastern Passage, as well as the Dalhousie campus’s five student dormitories.

“For us, it’s been a successful project,” said Gagnon. “It’s a tool that can be used to help make decisions.”

Other sections of Canada are undergoing similar tests.

Since Omicron was discovered in the province in December, the levels of the COVID-19 virus reported in wastewater have surged by nearly 88 percent in Saskatchewan.

According to Gagnon, a similar surge occurred in Nova Scotia, but he declined to be more precise until the data was double-checked.

Transplant: Man gets genetically modified pig heart

by Leading Reporters January 11, 2022
written by Leading Reporters

In what can be called a first-of-its-kind surgery, a man in the US has got a genetically modified pig heart in transplant.

The 57-year-old man is doing well three days after the operation, University of Maryland Medicine said in a news release on Monday.

The man, who belongs to Maryland, had terminal heart disease. According to release, the pig heart was “the only currently available option” for the patient, David Bennett.

On review of medical records, he was deemed ineligible for an artificial heart pump or a conventional heart transplant.

Before the surgery, Bennett said, “It was either die or do this transplant. I want to live. I know it’s a shot in the dark, but it’s my last choice.”

UMMC performs first-of-its-kind surgery successfully transplanting a genetically-modified pig heart to terminal heart disease patient. Learn more: https://t.co/2LfCe9Nc4k pic.twitter.com/ycgKYSYtWm— Univ. of Maryland Medical Center (@UMMC) January 10, 2022

On December 31, the US Food and Drug Administration had granted emergency authorisation for the operation.

To make it work, three genes, which are responsible for rejection of pig organs by human immune systems, were removed from the pig.

To avert excessive pig heart tissue growth, another gene was taken out. Not just this, six human genes responsible for acceptance of immune system were added.

The doctors will monitor him for some time to see if the transplant works.

One World Religion Headquarters To Open Soon.

by Leading Reporters January 1, 2022
written by Leading Reporters

The Catholic-Muslim Interfaith Council Created By Pope Francis Announces New Chrislam Headquarters Opening In 2022 That Combines A Mosque And Church According To Signed Covenant.

The announcement of the Abrahamic Family House, on the Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, follows a visit by Pope Francis to the UAE in February, the first by a pope to the Arabian Peninsula. During the trip, the pope signed a joint declaration with the grand imam of al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed el-Tayeb, that called for religious tolerance and dialogue. An interfaith council to oversee projects advancing tolerance was formed as a result of the declaration, and named the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity. The Abrahamic Family House is its first initiative.

The United Arab Emirates will build a new synagogue as part of an Chrislam interfaith compound that will also house a mosque and church and is reportedly set to open in 2022.

As far as advancing the end times timeline goes, 2019 has been a banner year for Pope Francis and the coming One World Religion. We told you back in February that the pope has travelled to Abu Dhabi where he met with Sunni Muslim leader Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb.

There the two men signed a global peace covenant called the Document On Human Fraternity For World Peace. From that covenant, the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity was created to implement this end times religious peace treaty. Now that committee has announced that there will be a fancy new headquarters for this endeavor. The shiny, new center of global Chrislam opening in 2022.

UAE To Open Chrislam Interfaith Headquarters In 2022

FROM THE TIMES OF ISRAEL: The announcement of the Abrahamic Family House, on the Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, follows a visit by Pope Francis to the UAE in February, the first by a pope to the Arabian Peninsula.

One World Religion

One world religion refers to the merging of all existing religions, to establish a single global religion. In the picture shown above, Pope Francis meets with religious leaders from all around the world, urging them to build a future together or there will be no future at all. Many premillennialist Christians believe that the Antichrist will establish one world religion, based on Satanism and the occult, associated with one world government. In ROME REPORTS, an article published on April 3, 2019 reveals Pope Francis speaking with an audience of Muslims, telling them that God wants a fraternity among Muslims and Catholics. “Conversion is not your mission, pope tells Catholics in Morocco”, according to an article in REUTERS. He encourages everyone to live in brotherhood with other faiths, which is opposite of what the bible teaches.

One World Currency

The WAll STREET JOURNAL mentions how central banks are getting closer to issuing their own digital currency, which means the dollar might face competition as the world’s dominant currency. Central banks such as the Federal Reserve already issue digital money with the Commercial banks that have accounts with them. With a digital currency, transactions could happen in real time, and fees would be lower or nonexistent. Mark Carney, governor of the Bank of England, said technological developments provide the potential for such a world to emerge, but also highlighted the risks of the current dollar-dominant system and how many large nations have experimented with exploring the digital currency.

One World Government

The concept of one world government is that there can be one common political authority for all of humanity. Such a government can have jurisdiction over the entire world. This type of government can be formed through force, or peaceful and voluntary.  Globalists have the belief that uniting people of all nations will prevent conflicts and wars, creating a utopia for humanity. Conservative Christians believe the one-world government is a rebellion against God, leading to the Antichrist.

Regardless all religions do not worship the same God, so the push for “Oneness” speaks a questionable volume. credit: believersportal.com

written by Leading Reporters

A groom-to-be, Mr Thomas Obi has been buried on his wedding day, leaving his bride-to-be and both families devastated.
The wedding which was slated for December 30 and 31, in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State, had sent both families into mourning after the tragic death of the groom.

Recounting how the incident occurred, a cousin of the deceased identified as George Odok, took to his Facebook page to narrate the painful incident.

He revealed that his late cousin brother had travelled to Calabar to make proper arrangements for the marriage and to pick some valuables needed for the wedding when he got involved in the accident.

According to him, his cousin was the only passenger that died at the spot on December 13.

He wrote: “Oh, dead, why the sudden surface, why did you come now to claim away from the life of my dear first cousin brother, Mr Thomas Obi, a.k.a Majar?

“Your marriage was fixed for Dec. 30th and 31st in Boki, but sadly, it turned out to be your day of eternal rest.
“My dear late cousin brother, you travelled to Calabar to make proper arrangements for the marriage and to pick some valuables needed for the wedding, only for you to be struck by an accident in Nko community in Yakurr LGA, and you were the only passenger that died at the spot on December 13.

“Can we question God for this painful demise? Oh, no, we can’t question God, because he gives and takes according to his divine timetable.

“What about your spouse, who was to wear her wedding gown today to be officially handed over to you in marriage? Oh no, this is a sad one! What about your children, what about your immediate family, extended family, friends and associate? This is one death too painful to behold.

“People have travelled from far and near to attend your wedding, to celebrate with you, to say congratulations on your happy holy matrimony, to watch you kiss your wife, but sadly, with tears in our eyes, we are rather seeing your lifeless corpse.

“Words have failed me, oh dear Majar, I wish we could bring you back to life by neutralising your demise!”

UK: Sikh Youth Threatens to ‘Assassinate’ Queen to avenge Jallianwala Bagh massacre, Arrested

by Folarin Kehinde December 28, 2021
written by Folarin Kehinde

The accused , identified as Jaswant Singh Chail, was detained on December 25 on the premises of the royal’s Berkshire residence

The Metropolitan Police said the arrested has been detained under the UK’s Mental Health Act

A 19-year-old man has been arrested for threatening to assassinate Queen Elizabeth II in revenge for the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

The accused, identified as Jaswant Singh Chail, was detained on December 25 on the premises of the royal’s Berkshire residence, days after a video went viral on Snapchat showing a man armed with a crossbow and wearing a mask and a black hoodie.

In the video, Chail detailed plans to kill the Queen to avenge the victims of the Amritsar massacre, according to the Sun newspaper.

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry for what I’ve done and what I will do. I will attempt to assassinate Elizabeth, Queen of the Royal Family,” the masked man is seen saying in the video.

“This is revenge for those who have died in the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. It is also revenge for those who have been killed, humiliated and discriminated on because of their race. I’m an Indian Sikh, a Sikh. My name was Jaswant Singh Chail, my name is Darth Jones,” he says.

The Metropolitan Police said the arrested has been detained under the UK’s Mental Health Act after a mental health assessment and remains “in the care of medical professionals”.

Meanwhile, his father Jasbir Singh Chail said his son was of unsound mind.

“Something’s gone horribly wrong with our son, and we are trying to figure out what. We’ve not had a chance to speak to him but are trying to get him the help he needs,” the 57-year-old told MailOnline.

“From our perspective, we are going through a difficult time. We are trying to resolve this issue and it’s not easy,” he added.

The Jallianwala Bagh massacre took place in Amritsar in 1919 where hundreds of unarmed Indians were killed in an indiscriminate firing by the British colonial troops under the orders of General Reginald Dyer.

Sweden’s Prime Minister-elect resigns hours after appointed

by Leading Reporters November 25, 2021
written by Leading Reporters

Sweden’s Prime Minister-elect Magdalena Andersson on Wednesday (Nov 24) tendered her resignation just hours after her appointment by parliament, after her budget failed to pass and the junior Greens Party left the coalition government.

“There is a constitutional practice that a coalition government should resign when one party quits,” Andersson, a Social Democrat, told reporters.

“I don’t want to lead a government whose legitimacy will be questioned.” Andersson said she hoped to be elected to the position again soon as the head of a minority government made up of only the Social Democrats.

In a turbulent sequence of events, Andersson became the first woman elected to the post of prime minister in Sweden after clinching a last-minute deal with the Left Party to raise pensions in exchange for its backing in Wednesday’s vote.

But the small Centre Party then withdrew its support for Andersson’s budget, due to the concessions made to the Left, leaving her budget with insufficient votes to pass in parliament.

Parliament instead adopted an alternative budget presented by the opposition conservative Moderates, Christian Democrats and far-right Sweden Democrats.

The fatal blow came when Greens leader Per Bolund said his party could not tolerate the opposition’s “historic budget, drafted for the first time with the far-right”, and quit the government.

Among other things, it said the opposition’s planned tax cut on petrol would lead to higher emissions.

Speaker of parliament Andreas Norlen said he had accepted Andersson’s resignation and would contact party leaders before deciding Thursday how to proceed.

Corruption Exposed: Musk vows to sell Tesla stock if UN shows the World how $6B solve world hunger

by Leading Reporters November 9, 2021
written by Leading Reporters

But it must be open source accounting, so the public sees precisely how the money is spent.— Elon Musk

The statement from the richest person in the world came after a UN executive challenged Elon Musk and some other billionaires in an interview to help end starvation in the world.

Elon Musk, the richest person in the world, has said he will sell $6 billion worth of Tesla stock and donate the proceeds to the United Nations’ food agency if it could show how the money would solve world hunger.

The SpaceX founder posted on Sunday on Twitter: “If WFP can describe on this Twitter thread exactly how $6B will solve world hunger, I will sell Tesla stock right now and do it.”

“But it must be open source accounting, so the public sees precisely how the money is spent,” he added.

His statement came after UN World Food Programme Executive Director David Beasley challenged Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and other billionaires in a CNN interview last week, calling on them to step up on “a one-time basis” to help end starvation.

In the interview, Beasley said billionaires could give ”$6 billion to help 42 million people that are literally going to die if we don’t reach them.” “It’s not complicated,” he said.

That money would be approximately 2% of Musk’s fortune, nearly $300 billion, according to Forbes.

His wealth and the wealth of many American multi-billionaires has grown quickly during the Covid-19 pandemic, thanks to increased stock and home equity, even more than before the virus struck.

But it must be open source accounting, so the public sees precisely how the money is spent.— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 31, 2021

Beasley responded to Musk on Twitter, writing $6 billion will not solve world hunger,

“but it WILL prevent geopolitical instability, mass migration and save 42 million people on the brink of starvation”

An unprecedented crisis and a perfect storm due to Covid/conflict/climate crises.”

He also offered to meet with Musk to discuss the topic.

“Please publish your current & proposed spending in detail so people can see exactly where money goes,” Musk said in a Twitter reply. “Sunlight is a wonderful thing.”

It remained unclear Monday whether a meeting will be set.

In 2020, the UN had received $8.4 billion in donations, which it says was $5.3 billion short of its requirements. Its top donors include the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom.

South Korean President Roh Tae-woo dies at 88

by Leading Reporters October 26, 2021
written by Leading Reporters

Former South Korean President Roh Tae-woo, a major player in a 1979 coup who later became president in a landmark democratic election before ending his tumultuous political career in prison, died on Tuesday. He was 88.

The Seoul National University Hospital said Roh died while being treated for an illness. It gave no further details or his cause of death. Roh, who ruled South Korea as president from 1988-1993, was known to have suffered many health problems including cerebellar atrophy for years.

Roh was a key participant in the December 1979 military coup that made his army friend and coup leader Chun Doo-hwan president after their mentor, dictator Park Chung-hee, was assassinated following 18 years of rule.

Roh led his army division into Seoul and joined other military leaders for operations to seize the capital. The coup _ and a subsequent crackdown by the Chun-controlled military on pro-democracy protesters in the southern city of Gwangju in 1980 _ are two of the darkest chapters in South Korea’s turbulent modern history. About 200 people were killed in the military-led crackdown in Gwangju, according to government records.

Roh was Chun’s hand-picked successor, which would have assured him the presidency in an easy indirect election. But a massive pro-democracy uprising in 1987 forced Roh and Chun to accept a direct presidential election that was regarded as the start of South Korea’s transition to democracy.

Despite his military background, Roh built a moderate and genial image during the campaign, calling himself an “average person.” He eventually won the hotly contested election in December 1987, largely thanks to a split in liberal votes between opposition candidates Kim Young-sam and Kim Dae-jung, who both later became presidents.

During his five-year term, Roh aggressively pursued ties with communist nations under his “Northward Diplomacy” as communism fell in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union dissolved.

Both Roh and Chun were earlier ordered by a court to pay back hundreds of millions of dollars they collected illegally. Roh has paid back his shares but Chun hasn’t done so, according to South Korean media reports.

Roh is survived by his wife and their two children.

How Lafarge Funded ISIS With $15.3m; Loses Legal Battle To Upturn Verdict of “Crimes Against Humanity”

by Leading Reporters October 14, 2021
written by Leading Reporters

Larfarge, a multinational French industrial company, operating in Nigeria and other countries has been accused of funding Islamic State (IS), a globally known terrorist organization to the tune of $15.3million.

The company, in its efforts at coming clean has as well lost a legal battle that tended towards upturning a judgment that found them culpable of crimes against humanity in war-torn Syria, according to a report from Agence France-Presse.

A French High Court set aside the decision of a lower court that previously dismissed charges against the Lafarge’s involvement in funding a terrorist organization in its bid to retain a cement plant in Northern Syria, an act the top court upheld as crime against humanity.

The Court of Cassation has thus reversed the verdict which tended to exonerate Lafarge for the alleged crime of paying $15.3million at the wake of the Syrian civil devastating war.

Lafarge has previously admitted that its operation in Syrian paid middlemen to negotiate with armed groups.  The payment was to allow its staff and goods to be moved freely within the war zone.

The multinational company however denied having a hand in money getting to terrorists and has made concerted efforts to have the suit nullified.

Two years ago, the Paris Court of Appeal dismissed the crimes against humanity charge in a decision that claimed the payments were intended to aid IS’s macabre agenda of executions and torture.

But the ruling ordered the prosecution of Lafarge for three other charges: endangering other people’s lives, funding terrorism and flouting an EU embargo.

Lafarge Cement Syria’s staff, numbering 11 with support from NGOs, contested the Court of Cassation judgement.

“One can be complicit in crimes against humanity even if one doesn’t have the intention of being associated with the crimes committed,” France’s apex bank said on Tuesday.

“Knowingly paying several million dollars to an organisation whose sole purpose was exclusively criminal suffices to constitute complicity, regardless of whether the party concerned was acting to pursue a commercial activity.”

According to judges, several acts of complicity would end up unpunished if courts handled interpretation with levity.

It also upheld the charge involving financing terrorism that Lafarge had striven hard to have dismissed.

The judgement does not imply Lafarge will automatic have a case to answer on the weightiest allegations against a French company regarding its activities in a foreign nation in recent years.

Rather, the court referred the case back to magistrates to review the charge of complicity.

Bruno Laffont, Lafarge’s erstwhile CEO and eight executives, have also been charged with financing a terrorist group and/or endangering the lives of others.

Lafarge is not the first multinational to be charged for complicity in crimes against humanity for its actions in a nation in which people experienced terrible human rights abuses. However, cases of that nature are hardly brought to trial.
