Leading Reporters is an independent online news publisher based in Abuja, Nigeria. We report on politics, governance, security, business and the issues that shape daily life in the Federal Capital Territory and across Nigeria, with a strong focus on investigations and public accountability.
Our mission
We exist to help build a stronger democracy in Nigeria by holding power to account. We investigate corruption, abuse of office and the misuse of public resources, whether by elected or appointed officials, public institutions or private interests that affect the public.
We believe that critics are not enemies of the government or of the people. Scrutiny helps leaders stay true to the standards of good governance. So alongside exposing what has gone wrong, we explain why it matters and, where we can, what could be done better.
