Former governor of Kaduna, Nasir el-Rufai has taken to social media to share a cryptic message a few weeks after the senate refused to confirm him as a minister.
The former governor’s names name was among the forty-eight ministerial nominees forwarded by President Bola Tinubu to the upper legislative chamber for screening and confirmation.
During screening on August 7, the former Kaduna state governor and two other nominees were not confirmed by the senate.
Noting that there were adverse security reports against El-Rufai, the Senate stated that he is required to await clearance.
The development however, generated reactions within and outside the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Although there were reports that el-Rufai had opted to bow out of the race due to the delay, the former Kaduna governor has remained silent on the issue.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter)โ on Sunday, El-Rufai shared the lyrics of Bob Marleyโs โWho The Cap Fitโ.
โMan to man is so unjust, children/ Ya donโt know who to trust/ Your worst enemy could be your best friend/ And your best friend, your worse enemy/ Some will eat and drink with you,โ the former governor wrote.
โThank God, weโre past the worse/ Hypocrites and parasites (hypocrites and parasites)/ Will come up and take a bite (will come up and take a bite)/ And if your night should turn to day/ A lot of people would run away/ And who the cap fit let them wear it!/ Who the cap fit let them wear it!โ
In what appears to be a reference to El-Rufaiโs post, Shehu Sani, former Kaduna senator, tweeted that he has โturned him into a Rastafarian and Reggae artistโ.
El-Rufai and Sani were former allies but their relationship went sour over the past few years.
