Impeachment Threat: Senator’s Threat Against Buhari, Laughable

The recent statement by the Nigerian Senate of their plan to impeach the president is a charade and theatrics.

Our Lawmakers are jokers who are only loyal to their party and not to the masses.

They are comedians performing a show and the president is having a good laugh.

You know it’s all a joke because up till now, no notice of impeachment has been served in the rules and order book of the Senate.

Anything not noted down in the order book of the Senate is just mere words and should not be taken seriously.

When members of the Senate come on media to shout about impeachment without following due process or serving any notice of impeachment in rules and order, then know It is just for media clout.

If senators are serious about impeaching the president, they are precedents which they have to follow.

First, they can visit the president in the villa to discuss matters of national security with him. After a light dinner, they will tell him, Mr president in all seriousness our people are dying and we can’t take this anymore. We are giving you six weeks to tackle security issues or we will impeach you.

No president will be visited by over 100 senators on matters of security and just shrug it off.

Secondly, a motion of resolution by the Senate inviting the president to explain himself in the parliament needs to be passed. There the senators can ask him hard questions on his plans to combat insecurity in the country.

It is after all these steps have been taken, before any talk of impeachment would be taken seriously.

However, the senators know that yet they choose to make caricature of themselves and Nigerians.

The government has a fundamental responsibility to secure the lives and property of Nigerians.

The country has fallen so far off that Nigerians now are no longer ambitious or wishing for success. People just pray to be alive.

The fight on insurgency can be ended quickly without the need for IMF loans or international help if only our gallant soldiers are assured that they are fighting a caricature fight.

Seniors military and government officials have shown through their actions that they do not plan on ending the insurgency anytime soon.

The fight on insurgency has now metamorphosed into a lucrative business to fill the pockets of high ranking military officials and government officials, including the senators.

Many senators engage in business and arms deal with military officials. They do not want the insurgency to end.

If the military opens it mouth to talk about the number of senators doing business with them, only few senators would not be implicated.

This is extreme wickedness as soldiers are now demotivated because their sacrifices is business for their superiors.

We need to do better by developing a concrete plan to end the insurgency once and for all and give our soldiers the assurance that their sacrifices is not in vain and they will be rewarded at the end of the day.

Nigeria Now In Worse State Compared To 2015 – SANUSI

Muhammadu Sanusi Lamido II, former Emir of Kano, has expressed great concerns about the current state of the country.

He said Nigeria is now in a worse situation compared to what obtained in 2015 when President Muhammadu Buhari took over from former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Sanusi spoke on Thursday in Lagos at the Akinjide Adeosun Foundation (AAF), leadership colloquium and awards.

“This is the only oil-producing country that is grieving at the moment when oil prices have gone up as a result of the Russia/Ukraine war. Our total revenue is not able to service our debt. And if anybody does not understand that we are in a complete mess, we are.

“We were in a deep hole in 2015. And between 2015 and now, we have been digging ourselves into a deeper hole.

“We thought we had a big problem in 2015. 2015 is nothing compared to what will happen in 2023. We have terrorism, we have banditry, we have inflation, we have an unstable exchange rate, and the worst thing is that those in leadership actually think we are going to thank them when they leave office, that we are going to appreciate them. There is no change.

“There is no sense of urgency. If you are running a company and your sales revenue cannot pay interest, you know you’re bankrupt.

“When the total revenue of the Federal Government cannot service debt we are smiling. These are the kinds of questions we need to ask. And the reality is that there are so many Nigerians, who, given the opportunity will do well but they simply cannot contest in that space,” he said.

The former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, hinged the challenge on the lack of vision of some of the country’s leaders.

He added, “What is our vision for Nigeria? Do we have a vision of one country? Do we have a vision of one united country, that lives peacefully with itself — diverse, multicultural, multi-religious but one?

“Leaders after leaders, most of those who have ruled did not have a vision for a united Nigeria. How would you like to be remembered after eight years as a President, after eight years as a governor, eight years as a minister, eight years as Governor of CBN? How will you like history to remember you? They have not thought about it.

“The vast majority of those in office have a vision that is limited to the next election. It is to win. And when you’ve won, you’ve reached a destination, not a journey.”

Niger Republic Honours 2 Northern Governors, Dangote, Others

To mark its Independence Day commemorated on August 3, the Republic of Niger Wednesday honoured two Presidential aides, two businessmen and two state governors with their national honours in recognition of their roles as ‘brother Nigerians’ who have strengthened the promotion of better relations between the two sister states.

The awardees are Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, Abdulsamad Rabi’u, President of the BUA Group, and two northern governors, Alhaji Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State and Mohammed Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State.

The Niger Republic also its highest Civilian Awards to two aides of President Muhammadu Buhari – the Senior Special Assistant (Household and Domestic Affairs) to the President, Sarki Abba, and the State Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Lawal Kazaure.

August 3 is set aside to mark the country’s independence from France in 1960 and since 1975 has been recognised as “tree planting day” when trees are planted across the nation to aid the fight against desertification.

In giving the awards, President Mohammed Bazoum said his country cherished Nigeria as one of its closest neighbours and friends.

They were awarded the “Order of Merit of Niger, Great Master of National Awards.”

In various citations read by the country’s leader, President Bazoum praised the efforts of “brother Nigerians” who had made great strides in increasing understanding between the two nations and for acting as agents of social and economic development.

Buhari Swears in New Permanent Secretaries

President Muhammadu Buhari has on Wednesday, administered the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Office to three new Permanent Secretaries of the Federal Civil Service.

Buhari swore in the new senior officials shortly before the start of Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council meeting at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

They include Farouk Yabo (Sokoto State), Lydia Jafiya (Adamawa State), and Udom Ekenam (Akwa Ibom).

Attending the meeting are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; Head of the Federal Civil Service, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan; and the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (retd.).

Ministers in attendance include Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed; Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami; Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed; and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mohammed Bello.

Others are the Ministers of Industry, Trade and Investment, Niyi Adebayo; Communication and Digital Economy, Prof. Ali Pantami; Power, Abubakar Aliyu; Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige; and that of Human Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq.

All other members of the Council not physically present joined the meeting through virtual means, including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who attended from home.

Writing Buhari’s Scorecard

The consensus among Nigerians across different parts of our country today is that President Muhammadu Buhari has failed both as a leader and a two-term president. His inability to deliver on his electoral promises to secure Nigeria, making it a safe polity for life and property aside food and job security in the wake of what Nigerians then thought was the demolition job of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP-led government of Goodluck Jonathan; fight corruption and relate with the people of Nigeria without fear or favour, in regard to religion, ethnic and gender identity- all of these have conspired to undermine his claim to a favourable place in history.

For a man who at a point enjoyed the unalloyed support and admiration of the vast majority of Nigerians from his part of the country, was accorded grudging respect from other parts on account of his apparent spartan lifestyle (which was seen as the appropriate antidote to the corrupt profligacy of the Jonathan years) and spent the latter part of his adult life aspiring to lead the country he once ruled as a military dictator for almost two years before he was ousted from power in a military putsch, this turn of events is without any doubt tragic. The more so it does not appear there is much the administration can achieve in the few months left before a new government comes into office.

President Buhari, indeed, has just about five active months, between August and February, left to ameliorate the harsh verdict of history. Not enough time to do much to say nothing of achieving a fundamental shift in opinion, expectations of Nigerians or his own capacity for any miraculous transformation in the state of the nation.

Any time after February, time during which the 2023 elections would have come and gone and a new president elected, would be only for the few house-keeping tasks left before Buhari enjoys his last presidential ride into Daura as a sitting president.

It is a journey, or more appropriately, a time he says he eagerly looks forward to. But whether that final journey home or life thereafter would be happy is beyond any one of us to say. The signs are, however, ominous and leave little to hope for.

Things need not have come to this point. The loss of credibility was gradual but steady and started with the erosion of trust from the outlining areas where the president had a very tiny, if any, support base in the South-East. At this stage, Nigerians from other parts of the country still harboured some hope that the president could achieve some good in the framework of democratic governance despite his reputation as a brutal, narrow-minded dictator. The anti-corruption image of the regime he led was sufficient to override these misgivings in some parts of the country barring the South-East.

But the disillusionment soon filtered to more liberal-minded people in other regions who could not make head or tail of the president’s ways, particularly his increasingly narrow take of national events that are regarded from the point of view of his region of the country and crass disregard of other parts. This went hand-in-hand with his habit of outsourcing presidential authority and responsibility to surrogates and hangers-on who know too well his weakness in this regard and thus proceed with their self-aggrandising agenda that are sold to the rest of the country in the name of national interest.

Soon communities of the North-Central region, that were being decimated by the predatory activities of common criminals masquerading as Fulani nationalists under the accommodating policies of the Buhari administration, would join the widening circle of malcontents and things would worsen as these criminals export their version of terror to parts of the South-West, leaving room for pockets of brigandage by local outlaws operating under the guise of Fulani invaders.

By the time the terrorists of the North-East closed rank with those of the North-West, leaving vast wastelands of destruction of property and life, the disenchantment has come full circle. It was no longer a matter of the North against the North-Central or the North against the South. It was clear that government has failed roundly and the strategy of divide-and-conquer would no longer work.

There is no hiding place for Abuja under Buhari any more. The attempt at globalising the failures of the government persuades only those who have chosen to be blind to the seven years of Buhari’s ineptitude. The world may be experiencing inflation at an unprecedented scale, the global economy under the strains of the Russia-Ukraine war may be heading for recession but none of these explains Buhari’s lack of connection with the Nigerian people, his neglect or outsourcing of his responsibilities to others while he enjoys the perks of his office like a patriarch in retirement.

In the last few months of his administration, Jonathan was able to downgrade the ability of Boko-Haram to inflict further damage on Nigeria. Rather than working along similar lines (as it is too late for Buhari to perform any miracle now that Nigerians look forward to his successor), Abuja under Buhari appears still to be looking for a scapegoat in the media, both local (that it accuses of lack of patriotism) and the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, that it is threatening to sanction for its expose on the ongoing brigandage in Zamfara. When the BBC did an expose on Nigerian universities, the government saw it as an opportunity to draw up laws tailor-made to the universities; when pastors were the target of a similar investigation, Abuja saw nothing amiss. But now the focus is on its own rotten underbelly, the intractable banditry in the North, it suddenly sees bad faith.

The historical fight between the Fulani and the Hausa over land and everything else under and above it, the BBC investigation shows, has been mismanaged and worsened by corruption in high places. The mystery that the Buhari administration has so far thrown around bandit terror has been shredded by the investigation that puts faces to known names and narratives behind their murderous activities. These are human beings, if deformed, inhabiting known places in a Savannah, not a wilderness of rain forests.

From where comes the mystification of their activities and identity by Abuja? Rather than finding a lasting solution to the problem(appeasement, annihilation or a bit of both), government and its supporters view the BBC investigation as promoting banditry and lionising bandits.

Far from it, the investigation points at the misery of the victims of banditry, the corruption that has sustained it and the bandits’ own attempts at profiting from it in the light of government’s unwillingness to end it. The investigation is a critique of the nested scale of the corruption wrought by power.

Abuja Insecurity: Terrorists Bring Battle To Buhari’s Doorstep

Three daring attacks by terrorists within three weeks have raised questions about the security architecture in the nation’s capital.

Regarded as one of the most fortified custodial centres in the country, the Kuje Medium Custodial Centre was on July 5 successfully attacked by members of the Islamic State for West African Province, who freed 443 inmates, including 69 of their members. The terrorists, who were said to be over 100, reportedly operated for more than two hours and overwhelmed a battalion of the Nigerian Army, Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Armed Squad of the Nigerian Correctional Service, among others stationed at the facility.

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.); the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan; and the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, were all totally befuddled at the sheer brazenness with which the attack was carried out.

The President and some of his cabinet members, as well as the Senate President, had yet to recover from the shock and were still apprehensive about the Kuje attack and the possibility of the escapees staying back to torment them when they woke up to yet another report of an attack on the Presidential Guards Brigade last Sunday.

The Presidential Guards Brigade, which provides security for the Presidential Villa, the nation’s capital, and neighbouring communities, was ambushed by terrorists, who killed two officers and six soldiers.

Again on Thursday night, some dare-devil terrorists went to a military checkpoint located at Zuma Rock and opened fire on personnel on duty. Although they were repelled, a soldier was killed in that attack while two were injured.

Presently, all institutions of learning in the Federal Capital Territory have been abruptly shut down due to the rising insecurity in the territory.

Before these attacks, there have been pockets of cases leading to the deaths and abductions of some residents in Robochi, Abaji, Kwali, and Kuje, among other neighbouring communities in the FCT.

In March, residents of Chukuku in the Kuje Area Council blocked the Gwagwalada-Kuje express road and made bonfires to protest against the incessant abductions and killings in their community.

As of then, they claimed no fewer than 30 residents had been abducted since the year started.

However, security analysts believe these incidents and the spectre of insecurity witnessed in neighbouring states like Nasarawa, Niger, Kogi, and Kaduna should have put the security operatives and the government on red alert and measures capable of averting these attacks should have been emplaced.

Compounding the fears of the residents was the leaked memo from the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, which reported a planned attack by terrorists on the FCT.

In addition to this, there has been a litany of messages on social media platforms warning residents to refrain from some places within the territory.

Residents panic

In recent times, the FCT has been experiencing an influx of people from other northern states as a result of the few cases of insecurity recorded in the territory compared to others. The recent attacks by terrorists have, however, put paid to that.

Some of the residents who spoke with our correspondent said they couldn’t go about their normal activities as a result of the current situation in the FCT.

A resident who was recently transferred to the FCT, Mrs. Adebimpe Olayinka, said she did not feel safe at the moment.

She said, “When I got transferred to Abuja, I was not bothered about security as much because the FCT was regarded as one of the safest places to stay in the country. One should not have expected anything less because that is where the seat of power is. With the recent attacks and happenings in the FCT, I feel unsafe. Our community leaders have doubled our security, but I still feel that people that successfully attack Kuje, the Presidential Guard, tell me where they cannot attack. And with the news of strange faces being seen across the FCT, it shows they have surrounded Abuja. I hope and pray it doesn’t get worse.”

A trader at Karimo Market who gave her name as Lauretta said the rising insecurity in the FCT was affecting her business.

Govt efforts

The Nigeria Police Force said it had deployed additional assets to strategic locations within the country’s capital to avert imminent attacks.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated that the Force Intelligence Bureau has been charged with gathering intelligence.

Similarly, the Guards Brigade has deployed more troops across the city to prevent another security breach.

The FCTA has also met with the governments of neighbouring states in order to rejig security operations. The security operatives in the FCT and their counterparts in contiguous states at the meeting agreed to take the fight to the terrorists’ camps.

Also, the terrified federal lawmakers, besides threatening to impeach the president, had met with the military high command to fashion a way out of the situation in the nation’s capital.

Risk management and security expert, Kabiru Adamu, lamented that despite the early signs, no corresponding measures to avert the attacks were put in place.

He said, “Outside AMAC, there have been constant attacks. If you ask us, the tell-tale sign was there. The Niger State governor had warned, even though his warnings were considered political, because the location he talked about was about 200 kilometres away.

“The governor of Kaduna had also warned. All of this points to the fact that these monsters had encircled the FCT and were planning an attack. The corresponding security posture would have limited or prevented the monsters from coming into the FCT. Unfortunately, we didn’t see that. Yes, it would be unfair to say the security department did not do much. They did.

“They carried out raids, which we didn’t see as a coordinated and systematic approach to the issue.” The forests, if you look at the ones that lead to Kaduna, would take you as far as Niger, through Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto, and Kebbi. If you look at the one in Niger, there is no way you would carry out a raid and be successful without involving the neighbouring states to block the terrorists from moving around. The result is where we are today.”

He advised that reports about the planned attack on the FCT be handled with caution.

On his part, the former Director of the Department of State Services, Mike Ejiofo, said the police could not have prepared ahead to avert the attacks because they lacked the required manpower.

He said, “How do you prepare ahead when Police manpower is inadequate, they are ill-equipped and underfunded? That is why people must be involved in security.”

He called on residents to be security conscious and get involved in activities that would secure their communities.

Ejiofo said, “Everybody must not only be security conscious but vigilant. Residents must observe their environment. This is the time to form groups and employ vigilantes to look after the community to strengthen security within their environment. Also, they should ensure they have CCTV in their houses, although, it doesn’t stop crime from happening but it will help the police during its investigation.”

Telecommunications Subscribers To Pay 5% Tax On All Services

President Muhammadu Buhari regime has finalized plans to levy a 5% percent Excise Duty on all telecommunications services, including calls, SMS, and data services, a move that would further compound Nigerians’ economic woes

Finance Minister Zainab Ahmed shared the worrying news at a stakeholders’ forum organized by the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC in Abuja on Thursday. Ms Ahmed said the decision was motivated by the federal government’s desperation to augment declining income from oil and gas.

“The issue of revenue is not something that need to be shy away from, our revenue can no longer take care of our needs as a country,” Ms Ahmed asserted. “Also, Nigeria is no longer making enough money in oil revenue hence the attention is shifting to non-oil revenue.”

Ms Ahmed, represented by Musa Umar, Assistant Director, Tax and Policy, urged stakeholders to support the implementation of the five per cent exercise duty on telecommunications services.

The minister defended the recently enacted tax by claiming that several African nations, including Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, and others, have successfully tapped into this method of generating revenue.

She did however assure Nigerians, that the government is committed to implementing the regulation in a seamless manner that will not negatively impact Nigerians.

In response to the development, Engr. Gbenga Adebayo, Chairman of the Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria, ALTON, described the new tax regime as a strange move and unusual development.

He bemoaned that the newly imposed tax was a mishmash of 39 different taxes payable by the country’s telecom operators, implying that the new tax burden would be passed on to subscribers.

“It is a strange move; it appears a bit unusual. Excise duty is supposed to be apportioned to goods and products, but we are surprised this is on services,” he said.

“We currently pay a lot of taxes, running into 39 of them, so we can’t add more to our existing burden. We won’t be able to absolve this on behalf of subscribers. The five per cent excise duty will be paid by the subscribers. It will collect by the operators on all voice and data services including OTT and remitted to the Nigerians Customs”, he added.

It was reported that telecommunication companies under the umbrella of ALTON recommended an upward adjustment in call and SMS tariffs to cushion the increasing cost of operation in Nigeria.

The association claimed that the telecommunications industry had been financially harmed by an economic downturn that occurred in 2020 and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.

They claimed the war had resulted in a 35 per cent increase in their operating expenses due to an increase in energy costs

Buhari Threatens Sanction On BBC For Banditry Documentary

The minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed says the government of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari will sanction the BBC for their documentary on banditry, accusing the platform of amplifying the voice of terrorists.

“Let me assure you, they will not get away with this naked glorification of terrorism and banditry in Nigeria,” Mr Mohammed said on Thursday in Abuja.

“When otherwise reputable platforms like BBC give their platform to terrorists, showing their faces as if they’re Nollywood stars, I want to assure them that they won’t get away with it, the appropriate sanctions will be meted.”

Mr Mohammed’s statement comes days after BBC Africa Eye published a documentary featuring interviews with bandit leaders.

In the documentary, Abu Sani, a bandit kingpin said banditry “has become a business. Everyone wants money. That is why things are deteriorating, from the top to the bottom.”

Threats of sanctions against media platforms have become commonplace with the Buhari regime.

Before now, Mr Mohammed had threatened sanction against CNN for their documentary exposing how Nigerian soldiers opened live rounds on EndSARS protesters at Lekki Tollgate, Lagos.

64 Civil Society Leaders Sign Petition, Urge Govt To Implement Climate Law

A coalition of civil society organisations on environment and climate change has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to immediately implement the Climate Change Act signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari since November 2021.

The group, in a petition signed by 64 CSO and NGO leaders and submitted to the relevant government agencies, expressed dismay over the delay by the government in implementing the core provisions of the Act which, according to them, would set the country on the right trajectory in meeting the 2060 net zero target.

According to the coalition, “we are gravely worried that after eight months of signing the Climate Change Act into law, no action has been taken to implement the different provisions of the Act”.

The coalition, however, thanked the President for showing commitment to providing a solid framework for climate action to achieve Nigeria’s short-, medium-, and long-term goals on climate mitigation and adaptation through the signing of the bill into a full Act.

“We, the undersigned civil society organisations and individuals appreciate and commend the President for signing into law the Climate Change Act which has demonstrated his commitment to providing a solid framework for climate action to achieve Nigeria’s short-, medium-, and long-term goals on climate mitigation and adaptation,” the coalition submitted.

It reminded the government that the continuous delay in implementation, especially when some core provisions of the Act are time-bound, would stall the progress the country had made in tackling effects of climate change and all the policies developed to mitigate climate change in Nigeria and across the globe.

The group went further: “We wish to alert Mr President that the government is now almost certain to default on some of the provisions of the Climate Act. The signing of the Act into law automatically triggered Section 19(2) of the Act which mandates that the Federal Ministry of Environment in consultation with the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning must present the pilot carbon budget to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) through the National Council on Climate Change not later than one year from the date of assent to the Bill. That, automatically, means that the pilot carbon budget must be presented on or before November 16, 2022.

“The Federal Ministry of Environment and the Secretariat are also mandated by Section 20 to develop the five-yearly Action Plan for the realisation of the carbon budget. Section 20(2) mandates that the first Action Plan must be ready within one year of assent to the Bill. It is important to note that Section 20(3) mandates that, before the Action Plan is presented to the Council and FEC, it must be made public for eight weeks (culminating 14 days before the date of presentation to the Council) for the public to review.

Given the long and thorough process needed to decide a carbon budget including through national consultation with the CSO and other stakeholders, we are concerned that the Federal government may fail to set a carbon budget by the date required by the new climate law.

“It seems that the government and its relevant agencies and ministries have abandoned the implementation of the key provisions of the Act. We are worried at the lack of action by the Federal government to implement a law it signed in good faith.”

The coalition warned that the attitude of the government so far in implementing the Climate Change Act will further damage the image of the country in the international arena and more so in climate change community and called on the government to act fast to save the government and the country from impending embarrassment as the COP27 to be hosted in Africa, Egypt is fast approaching.

“This unfortunate event carries the risk of portraying Nigeria as unserious before the international community and a country that makes a pledge without an intention to keep its words.

“A lack of implementation of the climate act will surely damage the image of the country at the global arena, especially as the build up to COP27 in Africa has commenced.

“By maintaining aloof and not acting quickly to implement the Climate Change Act, other countries will make mockery of Nigeria and some may begin to review or withdraw their climate support for Nigeria.

“In these days of climate change struggle, the Nigerian government and relevant ministries and agencies are more than ever needed to act to save our country from the further devastations of climate change. A stitch in time saves nine,” added the group.

During a recent virtual workshop for CSOs and NGOs leaders titled “Understanding and Implementation of Nigeria’s Climate Change Act: Implications for Nigeria’s Net Zero Target” organised by the Society for Planet Prosperity in collaboration with the Centre for Climate Change and Development Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu Alike (CCCD AEFUNAI) and Global Environmental and Climate Conservation Initiative (GECCI), the CSO leaders advocated for the immediate implementation of the Climate Change Act by the government to save the country from further consequences of climate change.

Like Eguovoen. Nigeria Doctors Can Perform Better Than Your Multi-Million Dollar Foreign Doctors – Reno Told Buhari

Self-styled opposition voice and alleged President Buhari tormentor, Reno Omokri has lashed out to President Buhari to rejig Nigeria health system, encourage Nigeria medical practitioners whom he said would perform better than President Buhari Multi-Million Dollar foreign doctors and cut waste that had led to untamed borrowing.

Following a congratulatory message extended to the Super Eagles over their unique performances in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations AFCON tournament by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Reno in response reminded the President that the wonderful performance of the Eagles is the handiwork of a local coach, Augustine Eguavoen and a clear indication that if waste is controlled, Nigeria would borrow less and if Nigeria health system is braced, Nigeria wouldn’t lose the much capital flight it loses to foreign medical trips.

“Augustine Eguavoen, is doing better than the multimillion dollar foreign coach, Gernot Rohr.

“Maybe our local doctors would prove to be better than your multimillion London doctors if you give them a chance.

“Maybe our local economy will get better if you stop taking external loans and start cutting internal waste.

“If Augustine Eguavoen can do it with the little he has, believe me, you can do it with the much you have!

Reno used the opportunity to appeal to President Buhari to pay Eguoveon very well like the foreign coaches.

“On a serious note, our government should consider paying Augustine Eguavoen the same mega bucks they paid Gernot Rohr. We cant pay Rohr millions for delivering failure and pay Eguavoen less for delivering success. My people, do I speak well in this? Reno asked.
