It added that all other activities lined up for the Independence Anniversary would go ahead as planned.

“The Government deeply regrets any inconvenience caused by this cancellation,” Imohiosen said, noting that the Federal Government appreciates the understanding, support, and cooperation of all Nigerians, members of the diplomatic community, and invited guests.

BREAKING: Chicago State University: Tinubu’s certificate not fake – Presidency insists

by Folarin Kehinde October 4, 2023
written by Folarin Kehinde

The Presidency has insisted that the certificate President Bola Tinubu presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, was not forged.

Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi, said the Chicago State University confirmed that the president didn’t submit a fake result to INEC.

Ajayi noted that CSU affirmed under oath that Tinubu attended and graduated from the institution and that the school does not handle replacements for lost certificates.

He said there was no truth in the forgery claim, adding that no person can forge a certificate he already has.

Posting on X, Ajayi wrote: “We should be clear.

“In the deposition made by the Chicago State University, there was nowhere the University said the certificate presented to INEC by President Tinubu is fake. The University insisted under oath that President Tinubu graduated with honours and even at that, replacements for lost certificates are done by vendors not the University.

“The claim that President Tinubu submitted fake certificate to INEC does not make sense. A man can not forge the academic records he possesses. You can only forge what you don’t have.”

Following petition by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, CSU had released Tinubu’s academic records on orders of the court.

Atiku had requested the documents to back his allegation of forgery against Tinubu.

The allegation of forgery was one of those dismissed by the presidential election court in the suit Atiku filed to challenge Tinubu’s election.

by Andrew Mailafia August 2, 2023
written by Andrew Mailafia

PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has assured the leaders of the organized labour union across the country that the Port Harcourt refinery will commence operations by December 2023.

The president made this known in a statement released on Wednesday, August 2.

The labour leader also noted that the president made a series of promises following which they agreed to return to the negotiations table.

The statement jointly signed by the national presidents of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero and Trade Union Congress, Festus Osifo hailed Nigerians for supporting the nationwide protest.

According to the statement, “it is pertinent to inform Nigerians that the extent of the success of the protest is underlined by the request of the President of the federal republic of Nigeria; Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu to meet with the leadership of the NLC and TUC in a closed-door session.

“The engagement was fruitful that immense mileage was obtained with regards to the issues that bogged down the work of the Presidential Committee on Subsidy removal and necessitated the protest viz; He committed to an immediate restructuring of the framework for engagement in line with the input of the Labour leaders.

Noting that Port Harcourt Refinery will commence production by December this year, the statement stressed that Tinubu pledged to ensure that Agreement is reached on the Wage Award for Nigerian workers immediately.“

He promised to unveil a workable roadmap to the CNG alternative next week. On the strength of the president’s pledge and commitment, we have decided to return to a new and reinvigorated dialogue process to allow for full implementation.

“Once again, we thank Nigerians while we wait for the Government to fulfill its own part of the understanding as agreed with His Excellency; the President.”

Tinubu Appoints Jim Obazee, EX-FRCN Boss Who Almost Sacked Pastor Adeboye From RCCG To Probe CBN

President Bola Tinubu has appointed a Special Investigator to probe the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Related Entities.

In a letter sighted by Leading Reporters, the president named Jim Osayande Obazee, the Chief Executive Officer, Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN), as the investigator.

The President asked the Special Investigator to investigate CBN and key Government Business Entities (GBEs).

He also said Obazee would report directly to his office.

“In accordance with the fundamental objective set forth in Section 15(5) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), this administration is, today, continuing the fight against corruption by appointing you as a Special Investigator, to investigate the CBN and Related Entities. This appointment shall be with immediate effect and you are to report directly to my office.”

“The full terms of your engagement as Special Investigator shall be communicated to you in due course but, require that you immediately take steps to ensure the strengthening and probity of key Government Business Entities (GBEs), further block leakages in CBN and related GBEs and provide a comprehensive report on public wealth currently in the hands of corrupt individuals and establishments (whether private or public).

“You are to investigate the CBN and related entities using a suitably experienced, competent and capable team and work with relevant security and anti-corruption agencies to deliver on this assignment. I shall expect a weekly briefing on the progress being made,” the letter read.

The president also sent a copy of his directive suspending Godwin Emefiele as Governor of the CBN on June 9, 2023.

Emefiele has been in DSS custody since then. He was arraigned in court last week and granted bail but the secret police rearrested him.

Obazee had in the past led major investigations Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN); Bank of Industry (BOI); Zenith Bank of Nigeria Plc; Guaranty Trust Bank Plc and Access Bank Plc.

He has also participated in 16 technical committees including 1. Technical Committee on Accounting in the Petroleum Industry – Upstream Activities; Technical Committee on Accounting for Insurance Business; Technical Committee on Accounting for Statement of Cash Flows; Committee on Implementation Guide to Accounting for Leases and Technical Committee on Accounting in the Petroleum Industry – Downstream Activities among others.

Recall that Obazee, in connection with the implementation of the controversial corporate Governance Code 2016 made the headlines when Pastor Enoch Adeboye relinquished his position as the General Overseer of RCCG and announced Pastor Joseph Obayemi as the new overseer of the church.

The code limits the tenure for heads of religious groups and civil rights organisations to 20 years. He pushed for the implementation against Buhari’s wish.

The President-elect, Bola Tinubu, has already begun team building ahead of his inauguration by May 29, 2023 with Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila who is said to have been penciled in as his Chief of Staff.

Those believed to being considered for some serious assignments in the coming administration are his former Commissioner for Finance, Wale Edun and the Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, among others who are currently being identified for different positions.

In preparation for his administration’s commencement next month, 247ureports.com gathered that the current Speaker of the National Assembly Gbajabiamila, has already begun to discharge the duties of the chief of staff to Tinubu, having unofficially resumed with him in France, with a view to working out processes and plans, including calendarising his activities.

“Femi is gradually resuming with him in Paris, and they are trying to work out procedures and plans, ”a source revealed.

The source added that the president-elect was already looking at building national security and economic teams.

According to the source, Tinubu has appointed Edu and Atiku Bagudu into his economic team, which he considered a critical sector requiring attention immediately he assumes office.

He hinted: “Wale is supposed to be the coordinator of the economy, either as Finance Minister or the CBN governor. It is not clear yet what his plans are for Bagudu. But he has also been penciled in and is going to be operating at a very high and serious level in the administration.”

Meanwhile, a renowned playwright and popular Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka warned the president elect against failing to restructure Nigeria.

Najatu Mohammed dumps Tinubu, resigns from APC

Najatu Mohammed dumps Tinubu, resigns from APC

by Leading Reporters January 21, 2023
written by Leading Reporters

She said that recent developments in the country had made it difficult for her to continue participating in partisan politics and accused the party of wickedness against the Nigerian people.

Najatu Mohammed has resigned her membership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and announced her withdrawal from partisan politics.

Ms Mohammed also resigned from the APC presidential council campaign, where she had been the director of civil society engagement.

Her resignation was communicated in a letter addressed to the national chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu.

She indicated that recent developments in the country’s political landscape had made it difficult for her to continue participating in partisan politics.

“In line with article 9.5 (i) of the Constitution of the All Progressives Congress (APC), I am writing to you to intimate you of my resignation from the All Progressive Congress (APC).

“I am by this letter also informing you of my resignation as the Director of the Civil Society directorate of the Presidential Campaign Council of the APC.

“The challenges that Nigeria faces today require me to continue championing the struggle for a better country with a clear conscience as I remain absolutely loyal to my dear country Nigeria,” her letter read.

Ms Mohammed also said in a statement released on Saturday that she was leaving party politics because the mainstream parties lacked an ideological foothold that distinguished them from one another.

She contended that the parties’ lack of ideological thought in their conduct and programs reduced them to mere tools that served the interests of politicians rather than the people.

“After much reflection and careful consideration, I have decided to part ways with party politics. I have come to the realization that my values and beliefs no longer align with party politics.

“Our political parties have no ideological differences and are simply robes that politicians wear to serve their personal needs and interests at any given time. As a result of which, we see politicians changing from one robe to another whenever it suits them.

“What is important at this point in time is the individual wearing the robe and not the robe itself.

She said that going forward, she would be “committed to supporting individuals that are truly interested in addressing the root causes of our challenges as a nation.

“To remain true to such commitments, one must be willing to take bold and decisive steps,” she added.

APC Sunday Rally: A confirmation of evil agenda against the Church

APC Sunday Rally: A confirmation of evil agenda against the Church

by Leading Reporters October 7, 2022
written by Leading Reporters

While Nigerians continue to speak against same-faith ticket opted for by the All Progressive Congress (APC) for its 2023 presidential candidates, Nigerian Christian community wakes to another rude shock by the party following its planned rally slated for 9.am on the 9th October, 2023.

The party, of all days, chose Sunday, 9am for its 5million man march. A time many Christian faithful’s are expected to be in Church.

Some of the respondents said that APC insensitivity towards one of the major religious sects in Nigeria – Christianity has been taken to an all high and irresponsible level.

“For heaven’s sake, how can a party that flies Muslim-muslim ticket chose Sundays of all days for its rally. It foretells what lies ahead. If Tinubu and Shettima are allowed to mount that seat as President and Vice President, that would mean the end of Christianity in Nigeria. The signs are all here for us to see. They tested it in Kaduna and go and ask the Christian dominated Southern Kaduna people what their experience so far looks like. Bringing it to the Federal level will bring in total collapse of Christianity in Nigeria.

Another respondent who did not want his name mentioned described it as an insensitivity taken too far.

“First it was same-faith ticket. Now it is Sunday, 9am rally. The next thing they will request you is to donate your worship centers as party secretariats.

Yoruba Elders And APC Supporters Appeal Tinubu To Drop Shettima, Pick A Christian Running Mate

by Folarin Kehinde August 17, 2022
written by Folarin Kehinde

More than 5,000 Yoruba Elders majorly members of the ruling All Progressives Congress and supporters of Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday took to the streets of Lagos to protest the party’s Muslim-Muslim ticket, calling for a Christian to be incorporated.

The pro-Tinubu protesters, under the aegis of the Coalition of APC Stakeholders Network and Southwest Supporters of Tinubu, began their peaceful walk from Shoprite Ikeja to the State House, Alausa.

According to them, the only obstacle between the former Lagos State and the presidency in 2023 is his running mate, Senator Kassim Shettima.

In his address, the group’s President-General, Elder Arokoyo Samuel, described Tinubu as a “political colossus and astute political strategist” who has successfully built an enviable foundation for the party.

“He has also been crucial in the nation’s democracy being an important figure for almost four decades, hence his emergence as APC presidential candidate was perceived as a breadth of fresh air”.

Being known as a lover of peace, tolerance and exclusivity, he said it was, however, surprising that Tinubu opted for a fellow Muslim as the APC’s vice-presidential candidate.

Rejecting the combination, Samuel said “As a multi-religious and multi-ethnic country, any attempt for one religion to dominate the political structure could only widen the gap of mistrust and destroy the delicate sense of tolerance cultivated over the years.

“Hence, the choice of Shettima was not only ill-timed but also a total disregard for the diversity of the country, crushing the bridges built to connect the religious differences and promote ethnic harmonious co-existence”.

The Coalition of APC Stakeholders Network and Southwest Supporters of Tinubu said it is using peaceful protest to urge the party’s presidential candidate to drop Shettima.

“We want the best for the nation and the Muslim-Muslim ticket isn’t. This will set negative precedents for future generations. We must not fail our children.

“In place of Shettima, Tinubu should pick a Christian from the north-central. Doing so will assure the APC of a higher chance of gathering more votes from the North and across the country.

“The north-central dominated by Christians played a vital role in the 2015 and 2019 presidential elections. As popular as PMB is in the North, the only times he succeeded were when he won this zone, despite always dominating the Muslim-dominated North West and North East in his previous three attempts.

“There are a good number of Christian voters in the following northern states Kogi, Kwara, Plateau, Nasarawa, Benue, Taraba, Kaduna, Adamawa, Gombe, Borno, and the FCT, whose votes can be harvested to about 70% if we have a Northern Christian running mate on the ticket.

“Tinubu will write his name in gold should he make this bold decision. He will become the toast of Christians. Imagine the kind of momentum our leader will gather should he get the backing of almost 50 million Christians in Nigeria.

“It is our prayer that Tinubu will look beyond the surface and make this bold decision. We anticipate his timely action”.

Tinubu: From Bishops To Masquerades

by Folarin Kehinde August 17, 2022
written by Folarin Kehinde

On July 20th the APC presidential flagbearer, Bola Ahmed Tinubu unveiled Kashim Shettima as his running mate. It was supposed to be a regular occasion where a vice presidential candidate is revealed but something uncanny happened.

A bunch of charlatans were brought in to portray as bishops, in a bid to show that even Christians endorse their controversial Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Pictures of ridicule flooded the internet as said bishops were identified to be yam sellers, okada riders and mechanics. One could tell that the theatrics was not orchestrated properly as the cassock worn by the bishops was not authentic or their demeanour authentic. Many of them looked unkept.

The catholic church even put out a formal statement saying that no member of the church was represented at that occasion and those bishops are not affiliated with the catholic church.

Going from Bishops, the Tinubu campaign has now engaged the services of traditional worshippers and masquerade dancers in his campaign efforts.

A trending video showed masked masquerade dancers, putting on the APC Tinubu-Shettima regalia and chanting spiritual words.

The question Nigerians should ask themselves is if this move is necessary. Is the Tinubu campaign that desperate for religious support and approval or are these moves aimed at cutting the backlash of their Muslim-Muslim ticket?

The truth is that Nigerians are no more ready for these public displays. People now demand issue-based campaigns where the candidate tells Nigerians how we can escape this pitiable state the Buhari administration has led us to.

TINUBU’S Drug Money Laundering Reports Has Increased Our Website Visitors – U.S Group

by Folarin Kehinde July 21, 2022
written by Folarin Kehinde

A US legal website, PlainSite.org, has insisted that its website witnessed a surge resulting from files about the drug money forfeiture case on the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2023 general, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

PlainSite.org is a website that posts court documents and thus makes criminal records and case dockets on individuals or entities easier to find.

In a tweet, the site compared visitors to that of American billionaire, Elon Musk’s lawsuit, adding that the visitors drawn to Tinubu’s money laundering file eclipsed that of Mr Musk.

The website had recently uploaded dockets of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate’s drug money forfeiture case files in the United States (US).

The files from 1993 recently became awash on social media.

The site listed that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu committed 5 crimes per the IRS Cl affidavit which included  Money laundering (18 U.S.C. § 1956), Using funds from unlawful activity (18 U.S.C. § 1957).

Furthermore, it also listed Bank fraud (18 U.S.C. § 1344), Failure to file tax returns (26 U.S.C. § 7203), Lying to federal agents (18 U.S.C. §) among cases against the APC Presidential candidate.

Available records show that In July 1993, when Asiwaju Bola Tinubu briefly served as a senator, the US government filed a forfeiture lawsuit in Chicago against bank accounts in his name.

It was alleged, there was “probable cause” to believe they held the proceeds of heroin dealing.

The case followed a probe by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and other agencies into a trafficking network involving Nigerian suppliers.

The IRS secured warrants in January 1992 to seize almost $2 million, according to court filings.

Tinubu settled out of court in September 1993, agreeing to give up $460,000 to the US government in exchange for the release of the rest of the money.

Tinubu wasn’t indicted over the matter.
