BREAKING: Popular Nollywood Actor, Amaechi Muonagor confirmed dead after battle with kidney disease

Populat Nollywood Actor, Amaechi Muonagor is Dead. The actor, famous for his comical roles on screen, passed away after a protracted battle with kidney disease.

His demise was confirmed on Sunday by a family member.

Remembering Amaechi Muonagor

Amaechi Muonagor endeared himself to audiences with his unforgettable roles in numerous Nollywood productions. From comedic to dramatic performances, Muonagor’s versatility resonated with viewers across generations. His partnership with Aki and Pawpaw brought laughter and joy to countless households, cementing his position as a beloved actor in Nigerian cinema.

Battling Health Challenges

Despite his illustrious career, Muonagor encountered health challenges in recent years. Reports of his illness surfaced, sparking concern among fans and colleagues alike. Efforts were made to support him in seeking medical treatment, including trips to India for specialized care. In 2016, various publications highlighted his battle with diabetes. Since then, Muonagor has been absent from the screen, fueling speculation about his departure from the movie industry.

About Amaechi Muonagor

Amaechi Muonagor, born in Idemili, Anambra State, was a Nigerian actor and producer. In 2016, he earned a nomination for the AMVCA 2017 Best Actor in a Comedy category.

Early Life

Amaechi Muonagor hailed from Obosi village in Idemili North, Anambra State, Nigeria. He received his early education at St. Mary’s Primary School, Obosi, and Oraifite Grammar School before pursuing a degree in Economics at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), graduating in 1987.

Career

Following his youth service in 1989, Muonagor ventured into acting, leaving his job at the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) for his debut role as Akunatakasi in “Taboo 1,” a Nigerian movie.

Personal Life

He was married and blessed with four children.

In 2015, Amaechi, alongside other Nollywood stars such as Chinyere Winifred and Ebere Okaro, celebrated Dr. Chris Eke’s 40th birthday at Word and Spirit Assembly, Ijegun Lagos, commemorating the occasion with inmates of the Kikiri Maximum Prison and children at the Hearts of Gold Children’s Hospice orphanage home. In 2020, he spoke out about sexual harassment, asserting its prevalence across various professions.
