Pep Guardiola and Wife Working on Reconciliation After Separation

by Nelson Ugwuagbo April 25, 2025
written by Nelson Ugwuagbo

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and his wife, Cristina Serra, are reportedly making efforts to reconcile following their separation earlier this year.

The couple, who married in 2014 and share three children, spent Easter weekend together in Barcelona, sparking speculation of a possible reunion. According to Catalan outlet El Nacional, the pair are now “prepared to give each other another chance.”

Guardiola and Serra began dating in 1994. Serra, a fashion entrepreneur, relocated to Barcelona in 2019 with their youngest child. Reports suggest that Guardiola’s decision to extend his contract with Manchester City may have contributed to the split, with divorce proceedings initiated in February following their separation in January.

In a bid to bridge the gap, Guardiola is reportedly planning to make regular visits to Catalunya.

Off the pitch, Guardiola remains focused on Manchester City’s push for a top-four Premier League finish and a potential FA Cup triumph. However, a full summer break may be limited due to the Club World Cup commitments.

Portable dares Anthony Joshua After Speed Darlington Win

by Folarin Kehinde April 22, 2025
written by Folarin Kehinde

Controversial street-pop musician Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable has declared his intention to fight former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua following his victory over Speed Darlington in their celebrity boxing match.

“Now that I’ve beaten Speed Darlington, it is only Anthony Joshua I can fight now,” Portable told PUNCH Sports Extra.

The “Zazuu” crooner, who defeated Speed Darlington at the “Chaos In The Ring” bout on April 18 at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos, also confirmed receiving N20 million from Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy.

Portable has requested a musical collaboration with Burna Boy, who has been at loggerheads with Speed Darlington, following the generous reward.

The celebrity boxing match ended abruptly in the second round when Speed Darlington was unable to continue after reportedly suffering a dislocated shoulder. Following his defeat, the American-based Nigerian artiste demanded a rematch, claiming his opponent used supernatural forces to secure the win.

“Portable, I want a rematch, it breaks my heart you are carrying that money. It is so unfair, you have up to two experiences fighting. I have not entered ring before,” Speed Darlington lamented in a video posted on Instagram.

The defeated musician further accused the organisers of tribalism, alleging the event favoured Portable because of his Yoruba heritage, despite the outcome being determined by his inability to continue fighting rather than by judges’ scorecards.

Reacting to the accusations, Portable sarcastically embraced the juju allegations, saying, “I am not a loser, I am a winner. He is saying I used juju. Yes, na juju, go find your own juju.”

This is not the first time Portable has expressed interest in fighting Anthony Joshua. Earlier this month, he declared he wanted to fight the boxing star for N100m, stating that Speed Darlington was an unworthy opponent.

“I’m not fighting Speed Darlington again; I want Anthony Joshua with N100m,” Portable had said in a video posted on his Instagram page on April 9.

The victory over Speed Darlington adds to Portable’s boxing record, following his previous win against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha in December 2023.

by Folarin Kehinde April 17, 2025
written by Folarin Kehinde

Priscilla Ojo, daughter of Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo, has officially tied the knot with her Tanzanian heartthrob, Juma Jux, in a grand traditional wedding ceremony.

The much-anticipated union, held on Thursday, was attended by several top names in the Nigerian entertainment industry, drawing both admiration and online buzz.

The Lagos ceremony follows their intimate customary wedding held in Tanzania earlier in February.

The event was graced by numerous Nollywood stars, including Mercy Aigbe, Destiny Etiko and Toyin Abraham, who were spotted assisting with the event and dancing joyfully with the guests.

One notable appearance was that of 83-year-old legendary Juju musician Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey, whose presence thrilled attendees.

For their Nigerian traditional celebration, the couple dazzled in vibrant ensembles of purple, orange and pink. Priscilla wore a long-sleeved, asooke blouse paired with a dramatic, layered skirt adorned with sequins and stones. She completed the regal look with a purple gele and matching ipele.

The Tanzanian singer complemented his bride in a striking agbada made from matching purple asooke, featuring orange and gold embellishments. His royal blue cap with orange accents and a purple staff, topped with a carved map of Africa, added symbolic depth to the ensemble.

The bridal party added extra colour to the occasion, with the groomsmen sporting pink agbadas and the bridesmaids dressed in stylish pink traditional attire with gele headwraps.

Several clips circulating online captured the couple performing their traditional marriage rites. The decorated hall had a dreamy and heavenly ambience.

Before Thursday’s wedding, videos also showed Jux’s family in numbers flying down to Nigeria for the occasion.

Glitz and Glamour as TASUED hosts colour Festival 3.0 to celebrate Youth Expression & Culture

by Folarin Kehinde April 17, 2025
written by Folarin Kehinde

It is another drum roll as The Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) is set to electrify students and indigenes of Ogun State and its environs with the third edition of TASUED Colour Festival scheduled to hold from Tuesday, May 6 to Thursday, May 8, 2025. Aptly themed “COLOUR EXPLOSION,”

Brought to life by TASUEDFinest Media NG, this year’s edition promises to be a sensory overload of vibrance, unity, and cultural expression, solidifying its reputation as the biggest and most dynamic campus festival in Ogun State.

Speaking to the press about the significance of this year’s festival, Creative Director of TASUEDFinest and lead organizer of the event, Toyosola Amuludun described the festival as A Platform for Expression and Identity adding that the Festival is more than just an event but is platform for young people to explore their identities, celebrate their roots, and showcase their talents.

“The ‘Colour Explosion’ theme reflects the vibrant energy and limitless creativity of TASUED students. We’re creating not just an experience, but a legacy.”

According to Amuludun, this year’s edition will also feature surprise guest appearances, pop-up exhibitions, branded installations, media interviews, and the TASUEDFinest Awards — a recognition platform celebrating campus influencers, student leaders, and creative trailblazers.

He noted that the festival has grown stronger each year thanks to the incredible support of brands that understand the power of youth culture. Past sponsors such as Infinix Nigeria, Munch It, Monster Energy, Quick Choice, Escalade Haven, and other lifestyle and tech-focused companies have helped build the experience into what it is today — colourful, charged, and unforgettable.

Since its inception, the TASUED Colour Festival has rapidly grown into one of the most anticipated annual events in Ogun State’s student community. It embodies the spirit of TASUED: forward-thinking, proudly African, and unapologetically youthful.

The organizers have called on brands, student entrepreneurs, and community stakeholders to take advantage of sponsorship and partnership opportunities, emphasizing the festival’s ability to drive youth engagement, brand visibility, and cultural impact.

“We’re inviting everyone – students, creatives, alumni, and corporate brands – to join this celebration of unity through diversity. This is not just TASUED’s story; it’s Nigeria’s youth story, told in colour,” Amuludun added.

The 3-day festival’s itinerary has been carefully curated to deliver a crescendo of experiences:

Day One: Colour Festival (Tuesday, May 6) – An exhilarating kick-off featuring colour splashes, powder parties, DJ sets, dance circles, and live hype sessions. This day celebrates unity through uninhibited self-expression.

Day Two: Cultural Festival (Wednesday, May 7) – A display of Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity, with students donning traditional attires, performing indigenous dances, and showcasing various ethnic identities across tribes and regions.

Day Three: Costume Festival (Thursday, May 8) – A celebration of innovation and imagination, where students hit the campus runway in a spectacular display of costumes, ranging from mythological characters to modern-day pop icons.

Osupa’s lawyer, Ahmed Opalekunde, confirmed to reporters on Tuesday that a withdrawal application had been filed at the Upper Area Court 1, High Court, Ilorin.

The Kwara State Police Command had arraigned Portable on Monday, following a petition filed by Osupa. The Fuji star had accused the singer of criminal defamation, intimidation, inciting public disturbance, and cyberstalking.

by Nelson Ugwuagbo April 14, 2025
written by Nelson Ugwuagbo

Controversial Nigerian singer, Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has been remanded in the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State, following his inability to meet the bail conditions set by an Upper Area Court.

Portable was arraigned on Monday on charges of defamation of character brought against him by veteran Fuji musician, Okunola Saheed, popularly known as Saheed Osupa.

The court granted the singer bail in the sum of N1 million, with additional conditions requiring two sureties in like sum. According to the bail terms, one of the sureties must be either the Chairman or Secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), while the other must be a property owner in a Government Reserved Area (GRA) in Ilorin with a valid Certificate of Occupancy.

The case, filed under First Information Report (FIR) 117(1) CPC, was initiated by the State Intelligence Department of the Nigeria Police following a petition submitted by Osupa on March 21, 2025.

In the petition, Osupa accused Portable of making defamatory statements in a live Instagram broadcast. In the video, Portable allegedly claimed that Osupa was envious of his success and had taken steps to undermine his career.

“This man dey try bring down my shine! He be like person wey dey chop snail with shell—him no get sense. Osupa carry tortoise for stomach. When Apple Music and Spotify want to drop money for me, na him remove my song from the platform, make I no see money (sic),” Portable was quoted as saying.

Osupa described the comments as defamatory, malicious, and capable of inciting public hatred, adding that they posed a threat to public peace.

The case has been adjourned while Portable remains in custody pending fulfillment of his bail conditions.
