Iyabo Ojo And Kemi Olunloyo Fights Dirty Over Casket For Mohbad’s Burial

by Folarin Kehinde September 29, 2023
written by Folarin Kehinde

Self-proclaimed journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has slammed Nollywood actresses, Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh, over their involvement in the burial of the late singer, Mohbad.

LEADING REPORTERS recalls that Tonto Dikeh and Iyabo Ojo recently showed off Mohbad’s burial casket while offering a sneak peek into their elaborate preparations for the late singer’s funeral.

Taking to her Facebook page, Kemi Olunloyo slammed Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh for their role in Mohbad’s burial, emphasizing that the casket should not have ben filmed for content.

She wrote, “Nigerians are blasting Tonto and Iyabo Ojo all over the Internet. I am sure if Festus or Priscilla died she would not like anyone to videotape the casket, shopping and post it online.

“Tonto is already a super clout chaser. I came up with idea that Sanwo should give him a befitting burial at Ebony Vaults. You stole the idea and messed it up by videoing it for content. Even MOhbad is singing “wetin be dis one like this” the young man don suffer”

Reacting to the attack, Iyabo Ojo placed a curse on Kemi Olunloyo for bringing her children into the conversation, calling her names, and expressing displeasure at her involvement in the matter.

The actress, who had previously mocked Kemi over her Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), challenged the journalist to reveal her current location.

She wrote, “Kem kem oloriburuku, Agbaya, oni urgent 2k, ex convict, oni ptsd ofo, i hear say you dey Ghana, why are you running now, the next time you mention my children’s name or wish them death, Ogun lo ma pa e danu la se edumare …… Madam, fake jonalist, oni iro aiye, ole aji malt worldwide, oni bo ni nu eleyi lo te yii, you will go back to your original home sweet home seee, I promise you that……. you go hear wieeeeeee,

Kemi responded, calling Iyabo the “Queen Mother of OLOSHOS” and dismissing the accusations. She claimed to be teaching African mothers about the dangers of drug abuse and mentioned her recent travels.

Kemi Olunloyo also accused Iyabo Ojo of filming other people’s children’s caskets for clout and warned of the consequences.

She wrote “Queen Mother of OLOSHOS. I’m loving these distractions on #justice4mohbad #AuntyKemKem#Ajimalt

You’re planning the funeral of a cultist and musician with a history of drug trafficking and drug use. I can’t even attend the reception to come and steal malt. You’re venturing into evil territory.

JUST IN: Nationwide blackout looms as Nigerian electricity workers join labour unions’ planned strike

by Folarin Kehinde September 29, 2023
written by Folarin Kehinde

A nationwide blackout is likely as the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) has directed its members to commence total mobilisation to ensure compliance with the directive of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to embark on an indefinite strike.

The NLC had declared an indefinite nationwide strike to pressure the federal government to address the hardships associated with fuel subsidy removal.

The NUEE, in a notice signed by its acting general secretary, Dominic Igwebike, on Thursday, urged its members to comply with the directive and stop work from the early hours of Tuesday.

The NUEE members’ strike could throw the country into darkness, given the workers’ critical roles in electricity distribution in the country.

NUEE urged its members to withdraw its services and participate in street protests and rallies “until the government responds to our demands”.

Part of the notice read:

“Further to the NLC National Executive Council meeting held on September 26, 2023, and the Joint Press Conference of NLC and Trade Union Congress over the untold hardships being faced by Nigerians as a consequence of the high price of petroleum resulting from the removal of fuel subsidy as well as other anti-labour policies by the government, the NLC and TUC have declared an indefinite and total shutdown of the nation beginning on zero hours of Tuesday, October 3 2023.

“Hence, we are to totally withdraw our services and participate in street protests and rallies until the Government responds to our demands.

“Please note that withdrawal of Services nationwide commences from 0.00 hours of Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

“You are encouraged to work with the leadership of State Executive Councils of the congress in your various states with a view to having a successful action.”

BREAKING: IPOB dares Governors bans Independence Day Celebrations in Southeast

by Folarin Kehinde September 29, 2023
written by Folarin Kehinde

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has placed a ban on Nigeria’s October 1st independence anniversary celebrations across the Southeast.

IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, urged people of the Southeast to shun the Independence Day celebration in the region.

Powerful claimed that the Nigerian state detests Igbos and has rejected all efforts to treat people of the Southeast equally.

In a statement signed by Powerful, IPOB urged state governors and political leaders to shun the October 1st independence day celebration across the Southeast.

Parts of the statement read: “The global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by the Supreme leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU hereby call on Biafrans both home and in diaspora to shun participation in the Nigeria Independent day celebration on 1st October 2023

“Every sensible Biafra citizen must understand that Nigeria detests Biafrans, particularly Ndigbo. Nigeria has rejected all our efforts to be treated as equal citizens. Nigeria has marginalized Biafrans politically and economically. Since Nigeria has rejected us, we have also rejected Nigeria and her celebrations.

“The Nigeria Government and Nigeria citizens have time after time demonstrated that we are not part of them, and therefore, we must do everything possible to liberate ourselves from the bondage of Nigeria. Even a fool would have come to the realization that Nigeria is not for Ndigbo and Biafrans after the shenanigan that they called 2023 elections.

“As Nigeria’s government plans to celebrate her flag Independence from Britain, we advise Eastern Region Governors and Political leaders to shun the October 1st Independence celebration in our region. Moreso, we advise Biafrans not to attend any Independence celebration anywhere within Biafra territory or outside of it.

“Hence, IPOB has banned the Independence Day celebration and flying of Nigeria flags in any part of Biafraland on October 1st, 2023.”

JUST IN: Tribunal Sacks Plateau Assembly Speaker

by Folarin Kehinde September 29, 2023
written by Folarin Kehinde

The election petition tribunal sitting in Jos, Plateau State capital, on Friday, sacked the speaker of the state house of assembly, Hon Moses Sule.

The speaker, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was sacked alongside Danjuma Azi, member representing Jos North West constituency in the assembly.

The tribunal, however, declared the former majority leader of the house, Hon. Naanlong Daniel and Hon. Mark Na’ah, all of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as winners of March 18 election.

The petitioner had challenged the sponsorship of the Sule and Azi on the grounds that the PDP was not qualified to participate in the election for lack of party structure.

Delivering the judgment, the tribunal led by Muhammad Tukur said PDP was not qualified to sponsor the respondents for the election.

He held that as the party did not have structure, “nothing can stand on nothing”.

The tribunal further held that the PDP disobeyed the order of Justice S P Gang of Plateau State High Court delivered on November 26, 2020 which ordered the party to conduct ward congresses.

Justice Tukur said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) failed to tendered any authentic document that showed there was repeated congress by the party in 2021, as claimed by the respondents.

Tukur-led panel had sacked two PDP lawmakers of the state assembly, on Thursday.

BREAKING: Families Of Abducted Zamfara Varsity Students To Stage Protests On Independence Day

by Folarin Kehinde September 29, 2023
written by Folarin Kehinde

The families of the abducted students from the Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State will, on October 1, 2023, Nigeria’s Independence Day, stage a protest, demanding the swift rescue of their daughters and sisters.

It would be recall that armed bandits, last Friday, stormed the school, kidnapping some students.

A sister to one of the kidnapped students, Hafsat, has now revealed that the kidnappers had not reached out to the affected families, and they were in the dark about the whereabouts of the kidnapped students.

She said, “Yes. Around 20 of them are still with the kidnappers. Well, after our hashtag trended on Nigerian Twitter on Monday this week, we decided to organise a peaceful protest during the 1st of October celebration in some Northern states and the federal capital city.”

According to her, the protest will start from Abuja and Kaduna before other concerned residents will join in other northern cities, Sahara Reporters reports.

Recall that terrorists invaded the students’ residence at Sabon-Gida, identified as Nazeer Sabon-Gida and took away some female students of the school, whose exact number could not be ascertained as of the time of this report.

A few hours later, the Nigerian Army announced that it had rescued six of the students after a gun battle with the terrorists.

Giving an update on the matter on Sunday, the state police command spokesman Yezid Abubakar also confirmed that not all of the kidnapped students were rescued by the Army.

On Monday, a source in the university students’ union said about 24 students of the university were still being held captive by terrorists.

JUST IN: Tinubu’s Minister Hospitalised in Abuja After Suffering Acute Poisoning

by Folarin Kehinde September 29, 2023
written by Folarin Kehinde

Nigerian Tourism Minister Lola Ade-John has reportedly been hospitalised in Abuja after suffering acute poisoning.

According to report Ade-John, 60, was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, shortly after she started manifesting symptoms of poisoning, according to the sources.

Peoples Gazette cited sources close to her family, stating that she had been at the facility for four days as of Friday morning.

The minister, a career banker and tech investor has been on a machine to aid her breathing, the sources said. The specifics as to what substance she ingested and how could not be immediately established, according to the publication.

The publication further reports that her worsening situation has further set the family against the government, with the permanent secretary of her ministry said to be in disagreement as to whether she should continue receiving treatment at a public hospital or be moved to a better-equipped private facility downtown.

The permanent secretary, Ngozi Onwudike, was said to have insisted that the minister should not be transferred because the FMC is a public hospital and its services wouldn’t attract substantial charges to the government, a position her family rebuffed. But they remained with her as they could not raise funds to move her to a private hospital, the sources said.

Ade-John assumed the role of minister in August, appointed by President Bola Tinubu. She stood out as one of the cabinet members selected outside the traditional political circles. Having resided in London for several years, she was called upon by the president to return to the country and serve.
