The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has stated that the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, withdrew $720,000 from the government’s account and transferred it to a Bureau de Change to pay for his child’s school fees in advance.

This revelation has raised concerns about the potential misuse of public funds for personal expenses. Legal experts have suggested that such a transaction could be a violation of financial regulations.

The EFCC has vowed to investigate the matter further to ensure accountability in the management of public resources.
