Son of RCCG founder, Pastor Akindayomi dies after prayer walk

by Folarin Kehinde November 5, 2025
written by Folarin Kehinde

Pastor Ifeoluwa Akindayomi, the youngest child of the late founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pa Josiah Akindayomi, has passed away at the age of 63.

Church Times reports that he died on Sunday, November 2, 2025 approximately 45 years after his father’s passing and only months after the death of his elder brother, Pastor Kolade Akindayomi, who died in May.

According to close associates, Pastor Ifeoluwa appeared to be in good health before his sudden death. He had served as chairman at a wedding on Saturday and reportedly went for a prayer walk early Sunday morning at the RCCG Camp in Ogun State.

Upon returning home and while preparing for church, he reportedly missed a step, fell, and struck his head on a sharp object.

Attempts to rush him to the hospital were unsuccessful, and he passed away before help could reach him.

Until his passing, Pastor Ifeoluwa served as the Assistant Provincial Pastor of RCCG Ogun Province 5 and ran a successful printing business. Family sources revealed that his wife and children, who reside in Canada, had long encouraged him to relocate.

Although he preferred to remain in Nigeria to oversee his business and church responsibilities, he had recently secured permanent residency in Canada and was preparing to reunite with his family before his unexpected death.

Pray for your husbands, nurture your children in Godly way, RCCG women advise mothers

by Folarin Kehinde March 30, 2025
written by Folarin Kehinde

Kenny & Nelson

In continuation of the 2025 International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day Celebration, distinguished women in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has advised mothers to always pray for their husbands and be exemplary role models for their children.

Wife of Pastor-in-charge, RCCG House of David Zone, Pastor (Mrs) Oluwatoyin Kings in her message to the women in the zone stated that imbibing the character of living an exemplary life and praying for their husbands will bring peace into the family.

Mrs Kings explained that mothers are destiny molders not murderers hence they should exhibit characters that people will say blessed is the womb that carried the children and not otherwise adding that they should rise up to such occasion, be mothers indeed and role models to their children.

“As a mother, I would encourage mothers in House of David that they should rise
up to the occasion and be mothers indeed, role models to their children.

“Pray for your husband, nurture your children in the way of the Lord. That is where their peace lies. When you don’t nurture the children in the way of the Lord, you are only planning or cooking up their pain, their tomorrow pain.”.

She stressed that no perfect marriage exist hence mothers known as home builders should ensure that they are focused, appreciate humble beginning and trust God with their family.

“Don’t look down on today’s small beginning. Just have focus and trust God together. It’s better to start on a humble background and end up great, than to start on a great beginning and end up small. So, my advice to them is that they should stay focused, be more prayerful, be more committed to God, and not leave their homefront for any other thing.

“Abigail was a mother, she was a wife indeed. When David would have killed her husband and the entire generation, God used her to intervene. So, I want our mothers to play the role of Abigail in their homes and the Lord will help them in Jesus’ name.”. She added.

Wife of Head of Department, Technical & Media Unit, RCCG House of David Zone, Mrs Tina Oseagha advocated for urgent need affordable healthcare needs and education for women.

Mrs Oseagha emphasized that
If women are educated and well informed, they will make drastic and good decision about healthcare for themselves and their families bearing in mind that they are superheroes hence they want the best for their families.

“Educated woman will always seek timely medical care, adopt healthy behavior and preventive measures that will keep the family in good health.

“Education and mentorship have a huge role to play in empowering our women and girls, most especially in most male dominated industries and organization. We have strong women in our society that can break barriers. If such women will have access to guidance, advice, support, and networks that offers a sense of belonging and community, where women and girls can connect with like minded individuals.”.

She however advised women to come out of their comfort zone, learn new skills, be innovative and embrace new challenges, ignore toxic behaviors but rather channel their energy to profitable ventures.

Assistant Pastor RCCG, House of David Zone, Pastor (Mrs) Halima Oyelade on her part noted that mothers should train their children in the way of the Lord by teaching and praying for them while living an exemplary life worthy of emulation.

Mrs Oyelade emphasized that mothers should love their children and spend quality time with them, an act which she said will build confidence and trust in their parents.

“One of the greatest thing is to train up your kids in the way of the Lord. Be an example to your kids. Teach them and let your life be an example. Love them and train them by spending time with them.

“Children spell love as time. Let your kids be able to confide in you, Pray and commit them in the hands of God while you also teach them the truth.

She however noted that motherhood is not just a phase in life for mothers but a step towards building faith considering the challenges encountered in raising the children adding that action speaks louder than words, hence children are ready to copy whatever their parents does either good or bad.

Suspended RCCG Pastor Idowu Iluyomade starts new church

by Folarin Kehinde January 20, 2025
written by Folarin Kehinde

Suspended clergyman Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, formerly of the City of David Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has officially launched his new church, Family Fellowship, in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The move comes amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his suspension last year, following criticism over his wife’s lavish 60th birthday celebration shortly after the tragic helicopter crash death of former Access Holdings Managing Director, Herbert Wigwe in the U.S.

Wigwe who died in the crash alongside his wife and son were members of the City of David Parish.

Pastor Iluyomade held the inaugural service on Sunday, January 19th, with viral videos showing him joyously dancing alongside his congregation.

However, his wife, Siju Iluyomade, was noticeably absent from the footage, raising speculation among observers.

His suspension from RCCG had included a three-month break and an investigation into allegations of misconduct. Despite the controversy, Iluyomade’s new venture has sparked mixed reactions across social media platforms.

2025: “Anything can happen, mockers will not survive the year” Pastor Adeboye declares in New Year prophecy

by Folarin Kehinde January 1, 2025
written by Folarin Kehinde

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has made declarations for the new year.

The cleric while speaking at his church’s crossover service said 2025 will be a year of landmark for Nigeria and Nigerians.

Adeboye describing 2025 as a year for everyone would always remember, said detractors would be louder and very aggressive this year.

He said, “Earthly helpers would be replaced by heavenly helpers this year. Mockers would be louder and more aggressive, but unfortunately, many of them will not survive the year.

“It’s unfortunate because God did not want the death of a sinner but to repent. But some people have made up their minds not to repent.

“A landmark year means a lot of things. Anything can happen. But I pray only good things will happen to you,” Adeboye said.

Addressed to the special assistant to the general overseer of administration, the memo reaffirms that the RCCG does not condone any form of homosexuality, citing doctrinal and biblical principles.

“I was duped by man who promised to make me commandant” – Pastor Adeboye

by Folarin Kehinde September 17, 2024
written by Folarin Kehinde

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has disclosed how his ambition to lead a paramilitary group led to a significant personal loss.

Adeboye recounted an incident from years ago when he was deceived by someone claiming to offer him a prestigious position.

He said the man, who presented himself as a recruiter for a new paramilitary agency, convinced him to invest in the venture.

The clergy revealed this in a post on his X handle on Monday.

Describing his decision to trust the man as a lapse in judgment influenced by his past fascination with the military, Adeboye admitted that his desire to fulfil this role led him to act prematurely.

He narrated, “Years ago, I was duped by a man who promised to make me a commandant of a paramilitary group. This man had been sending messages to me through my secretary for a while, and so, one day, I gave him an audience. He explained to me how a Boy-Scouts-like group had evolved into this new agency, and that he was sourcing for who would lead the group spiritually.

“Normally, I ask God before getting involved in anything at all, but this time, my love for the military in my younger days beclouded my best instincts, and I agreed to be their head. He told me that they needed some funding, which I gave as the prospective head. However, I later found out that the man was a fake.”

He, however, noted that the experience birthed the Redemption City corps and a local police post.

“My desire to be part of a paramilitary group made me run ahead of God, but God had already purposed for Redemption City to have its own corps of chaplains as well as a local Police post. He knew the desire of my heart, and He had planned for it to be fulfilled in His own time. I thought that I could bring my desire to fulfilment in my own time, but I was wrong. What I lost in that experience was money, but for someone else, it might have been their life or a loved one.
