Good News As Owo Church Attack Killers Apprehended

The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor has said that security operatives have arrested the suspected killers of worshippers at St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State.

Speaking at a meeting with editors and media executives in Abuja on Tuesday, Irabor said the suspects would be paraded after the conclusion of investigation.

According to him, the military has also neutralized many bandits terrorizing the country.

He said, “Let me bring it to your notice that within the last time we met, there have been ignoble actions of men of the underworld that have impinged on our collective well-being, namely the unfortunate train attack, the attack on Kuje correctional centre as well as the attack on the presidential convoy.

Also, the Owo incident which was intended to bring men and women of the armed forces to present them in a form and shape that make it to look as if the nation is on a siege. We have arrested those behind the dastardly act in Owo.”

Terrorists Now Occupy our Forests – Akeredolu

Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has raised alarm that forests across the nation have been taken over by terrorist

Akeredolu disclosed this during a condolence visit by members of the council of all saints church, Jericho Ibadan.

He called on the international community to help Nigeria in the fight against terrorism. According to him, “we have terrorist in Nigeria and the world needs to assist us”

The condolence visit paid by the church to Akeredolu was in light of the Attack on a Catholic church in owo, ondo state.

On the 5th of June 2022, a mass shooting occurred at St Francis Xavier Catholic church in owo, ondo state. At least 40 people were killed with scores injured in the attack.

Akeredolu made these comments the same day that president Buhari directed increased kinetic efforts to trace and bring back the 51 passengers who were kidnapped on an Abuja-Kaduna train.

Governor Akeredolu also said that should it be the case that the Nigerian government does not need international assistance, that ondo state wants it.

Owo Terror Attack: Ondo Govt Cancels June 12 Celebration

The Ondo State Government has canceled this year’s June 12 celebration earlier slated for Sunday 12th June, 2022.

This is consequent upon the terror attack on innocent worshipers at St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, on Sunday 5th June, 2022.

The cancelation is to enable the entire people of Ondo State mourn their loved ones who lost their lives in the horrific attack.

Recall that the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, had directed that all flags in the state be flown at half -mast for seven days in honour of the victims of the terror attack.

Group challenges Senator Patrick Ayo to defend his “Billionaire” status As claimed in media briefing; unveils his financial dealings

A group, League of Patriots has challenged the Senate Committee Chairman on Ethics Privileges and Public Petitions, Senator Patrick Ayo Akinyelure to defend his ‘billionaire’ status which he claimed during a media briefing following a publication by LeadingReporters on how Senator Ayo leverages his office to curry favour from indicted individuals and organizations. The group has provided part of facts and figures which they challenged Senator Patrick to fault, as part of the numerous evidence in their disposal that Senator Patrick Ayo Akinyelure should be stripped of his Committee Chairmanship.

The group, in a communique signed by its Spokesman Femi Adekunle and exclusively obtained by LeadingReporters said it is giving the Senator seven days to put out all his financial records prior to becoming a Senator and now that he is a Senator, failure of which, all the financial and statutory records of the Senator would be availed the public to judge for themselves.

Senator Ayo, through his media aide, in defending his principal has posited that Senator Patrick Ayo’s shot at politics was stirred by his desire to serve humanity and not to amass wealth.  The aide claimed that Senator Ayo was a billionaire in different currencies before coming to politics, a claim investigation by LeadingReporters has found to be manipulative, deceitful and aimed at misleading the public from the allegations against the Senator.

Recall that LeadingReporters, has previously reported in one of its publications that it is privy to information that could prove that Senator Ayo lacks the morality to head a committee that is morally demanding.  In response, Senator Ayo addressed a press conference where he strived to play down the substance of the allegations against him by claiming that LeadingReporters is a faceless online platform that is hired to destroyed his ‘hard-earned reputation’.

The Senator claimed that the online never reached out to him for his own side of the story before publication.  A claim that further validates the belief that Senator Ayo is a man empty in morals as the online, through its official line severally called the Senator and left series of messages on March 30.  The texts delivered on 10:55am on same day.  Texts he never replied to.  (See attached for proof below)

Senator Ayo further challenged LeadingReporters to come out with facts and figures to buttress the claim.  While we are not perturbed with Senator Ayo’s cleverness at downplaying the substance of the allegation by making mischievous and frivolous claims, we are putting a little fact forward as a proof that ours is a media outfit that does not make claims without substance. 

Meanwhile, League of Patriots, an organization founded by Nigeria patriots in home and diaspora with thematic objective of bracing leadership morality, and accountability in leadership has demanded that Senator Patrick Ayo steps down as the Senate Committee Chairman on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition to give way for thorough investigation into the huge allegations of abuse of office, corruption, and betrayal of trust reposed on him by Nigerians.

Gov Rotimi Akeredolu Is Not Dead — Media Aide

The Ondo State Government has dispelled rumours that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has died.

Governor Akeredolu, left the country for Germany after the APC convention in March.

Releasing different videos showing Akeredolu dancing, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Richard Olatunde stated that it became imperative to fault the media reports.

The rumour about the Governor’s death became widespread on Saturday after a gossip blog posted that Akeredolu has passed on.

The governor who was seen dancing and singing was also observed in a joyous mood and full of praises to God for keeping him alive.

Akeredolu had officially written the State House of Assembly seeking consent before embarking on the annual leave.

Meet The “Bullionaire” Senator Patrick Ayo Akinyerule who own Eighteen Bureau De Change, Other Companies with which he cuts deals

The Senate Committee Chairman on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, Senator Patrick Ayo Akinyerule and his family members own and sit in the board of at least eighteen companies as a serving Senator, including bureau de change, oil companies, construction companies, insurance and banking related companies, among other general services companies.

Investigations carried out by LeadingReporters into the financial activities of the company revealed what highly suggests that the Senator lacks the virtue of morality in leadership.

The Senator who represents Ondo Central is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.  By virtue of his profession, the moral dimension of leadership should not be strange to him. But that seems far from what obtains. Instead, it has become a situation where public petitions are converted to cash and business opportunities.

LeadingReporters investigation followed series of petitions received by this online news platform that Senator Akinyelure uses his position for self-aggrandizement and deal-cutting.

Among companies with which the Senator allegedly uses to cut ‘deals’ include:

Allover Bureau De Change Ltd, KKT Bureau De Change Ltd, Folly-Tizzy Bureau De Change Ltd, APL Bureau De Change Ltd, TopKem Bureau Dey Change Ltd

Other companies linked to the Senate Committee Chairman on Ethics include, but not limited to: KKT Oil Services Ltd, Allover Engineering Services Ltd, Senpat Engineering Ltd, PAL Construction Ltd, Folly Tizzy Services Ltd, Alphamate Commodities Co. Ltd, APL Insurance Brokers Ltd, Kunly and Associates Ltd

Further investigation revealed that Senator Ayo uses other companies where he fronts his wife and other relatives to perpetrate his alleged corruption. These companies are used as recipients of slush funds from those who have been petitioned and are willing to pay their way out of any indictment.  They include:

Folly-Tizzy Bureau De Change Ltd and Bestomi Bureau De Change Ltd

Other allegation, as contained in the petition sent to this platform for publication against Senator Akinyelure is that 85% of petitions to his office become a leverage to negotiate mouthwatering deals with companies, government agencies and individuals. Oil companies are majorly his targets, according to a source that spoke to LeadingReporters on condition of anonymity.  Others include government MDAs. 

These monies are received in dollars via his Bureau De Change companies or that of his associates which would be revealed in our next publication. Besides, construction companies and oil companies linked to him receive patronage from defaulting companies and agencies that desire their names to be cleaned from every corruption allegations. 

A petitioner who does not want his name mentioned shared his experience how Senator Akinyerule leveraged his petition to negotiate mouth-watering deal with a multinational company that shortchanged Nigeria Government of billions of Naira. He said that his presence in the office of the Senate Committee Chairman on Ethics and Privileges became a sore sight that he was literally told not to show up again.

He said it was much later that he received a call from someone who claim to be speaking from the office of the Senator directing him to go soft on the issue as that may become a risky adventure for him. The petitioner said that the caller literally told him that the company in question has link in virtually every government ministry and agency and there was little or nothing anyone could do about his petition because of the company’s strong links.

The office of the Senate Committee Chairman on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions is an office where morality should hold sway.  But what obtains there is a far cry from what is expected from an office that should be a hub of morality, empathy and patriotism for Nigeria Government and Nigerians.

All efforts to get Senator Patrick Ayo Akinyelure to address the allegations against him as texts and calls text to his known lines were not responded to as at the time of filing this report.

“Hushpuppi” in Ondo State Govt House: Wired N4.3b to secret account, set aside N10.7b to fund “Revolution Now”: Group Alleges

While the case of a Nigeria-born Dubai-based alleged internet fraudster popularly known as Hushpuppi rages on, a group that identified itself as the All Progressive Congress Integrity Group has alleged that there is another Hushpuppi in the helm of affairs in Ondo State that needs to be investigated.

The group alleges that the State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, through what they described as “Vicious Cabal of The State Executive Branch” did not only corner N4.3billion into a secret bank account but was instrumental in the sponsoring of “Revolution Now” with a whooping sum of N10.7b.  

The group said that the Vicious Cabal run and funded by the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu refused to account for the money and rather deceived the stakeholders that the money has long been spent. 

In a petition to anti-corruption agencies, signed by one Olushola Adebayo which was obtained by LeadingReporters, the group claimed the said money belonged to the State, but was siphoned into a hidden account in the State.  The group said the fund was part of the funds and assets handed over the current administration by its predecessor.

The group as well said that the State Governor diverted another N10.7billion.  The fund was discovered in 2018 which the state Governor set aside to aid “Revolution Now”
