BREAKING: President Maduro Captured, Flown Out of Venezuela – Trump

by Folarin Kehinde January 3, 2026
written by Folarin Kehinde

President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that US forces had captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro following a “large-scale strike” on the country.

“The United States of America has successfully carried out a large-scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolás Maduro, who, along with his wife, has been captured and flown out of the country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He added that he would hold a news conference at 11:00 a.m. (1600 GMT) at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

Politics Nigeria earlier reported that US President Donald Trump confirmed that the US had “successfully” carried out what he called a “large-scale” strike against Venezuela.

President Donald Trump has said the US launched a “powerful and deadly strike” against the Islamic State (IS) group in north-western Nigeria.

The US leader described IS as ” terrorist scum”, accusing the group of “targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians”.

Trump said the US military “executed numerous perfect strikes”, while the US Africa Command (Africom) later reported that Thursday’s attack was carried out in co-ordination with Nigeria in the Sokoto state.

Trump: More strikes ahead after U.S. targets terrorists in Nigeria

by Folarin Kehinde December 26, 2025
written by Folarin Kehinde

President of the United States, Donald Trump, has announced that the U.S. military carried out airstrikes against terrorist hideouts in Nigeria.

Trump made the announcement on Christmas Day, stating that the operation targeted ISIS-affiliated terrorists operating in Sokoto State, in North-West Nigeria.

He described the strikes as “powerful and deadly” and warned that more attacks would follow.

According to Trump, the operation was launched after repeated concerns over the killing of Christians in Nigeria’s North-West and North-Central regions. In November 2025, he had publicly condemned the attacks and warned that his administration would take action if the violence continued.

Following consultations and deliberations with Nigerian authorities, both countries reportedly reached agreements on counter-terrorism cooperation. The U.S. government later confirmed that the airstrikes were carried out on Thursday night in terrorist hideouts located in forested areas of Sokoto State.

“In my direction as Commander-in-Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS terrorists in North-West Nigeria,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

He added that his administration would not allow radical Islamic terrorism to thrive under his leadership.

Liberian President Receives Surprising Compliment on English from Trump

by Nelson Ugwuagbo July 10, 2025
written by Nelson Ugwuagbo

U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday complimented Liberian President Joseph Boakai on his command of the English language, despite English being Liberia’s official language and widely spoken by its citizens.

The remark came during a White House luncheon with African leaders. After brief comments by Boakai, Trump turned to him and asked, “Thank you, and such good English… Where did you learn to speak so beautifully? Where were you educated?”

Boakai, a business graduate who was educated in Liberia and speaks English as his first language, responded briefly. Facing away from the media, his low-toned reply made it difficult to discern his reaction, though it appeared restrained.

Trump, seated among several French-speaking West African presidents, continued, saying, “It’s beautiful English. I have people at this table can’t speak nearly as well.”

The exchange drew attention for its awkwardness and the apparent unfamiliarity with Liberia’s linguistic background.

Musk vs. Trump: Billionaire and President Clash Over “Big Beautiful Bill”

by Nelson Ugwuagbo June 6, 2025
written by Nelson Ugwuagbo

President Donald Trump and billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk are locked in a bitter public feud that has gripped Washington and beyond. What began as a policy disagreement over Trump’s sweeping domestic legislation has spiraled into a war of words, with personal insults, explosive accusations, and threats of economic retaliation dominating headlines.

The conflict ignited when Musk, former head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), publicly denounced Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” a landmark legislative package that narrowly passed the House last month.

The bill, championed by Trump, promises massive tax cuts, significant reductions in federal spending, and strengthened border security.

Musk, however, slammed it on X as a “disgusting abomination,” warning that its projected $2.4 trillion to $5 trillion deficit increase would undermine his efforts to curb government waste.

His posts urging lawmakers to “KILL the BILL” put him at odds with Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson, who defended the legislation as a cornerstone of a broader fiscal strategy.

Tensions had been simmering long before the public clash. Musk’s 130-day tenure at DOGE, ending on May 30, 2025, was marked by bold moves—slashing federal jobs and disrupting agency operations—but also friction with White House insiders.

Chief of Staff Susie Wiles reportedly grew frustrated with Musk’s unilateral actions, such as issuing directives to federal workers via X without consulting senior staff.

Earlier in the year, Musk’s push to dissuade Trump from imposing widespread tariffs, citing risks to Tesla’s global sales and broader economic stability, further highlighted their diverging priorities.

Trump’s refusal to relent, coupled with Musk’s public spats with trade adviser Peter Navarro, laid the groundwork for the current conflict.

The feud exploded on June 5, 2025, when Musk and Trump traded barbs on X and Truth Social. Trump accused Musk of opposing the bill to protect Tesla’s interests, particularly as the legislation eliminates electric vehicle tax credits.

He escalated the attack by mocking Musk’s loyalty, suggesting he suffered from “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” and threatening to cancel billions in federal contracts with Musk’s companies, including SpaceX, a vital NASA partner.

Musk fired back with unprecedented ferocity, claiming on X that Trump’s 2024 election victory relied on his $270 million in campaign support, decrying the president’s “ingratitude.”

He endorsed a post calling for Trump’s impeachment and replacement by Vice President JD Vance, and in a stunning escalation, alleged that Trump’s name appears in the unreleased Jeffrey Epstein files, writing, “That is the real reason they have not been made public.

Have a nice day, DJT!” Trump retaliated by pulling the nomination of Musk’s preferred NASA chief and renewing threats against SpaceX contracts.

Musk briefly announced plans to decommission the Dragon spacecraft, critical for NASA’s space station missions, before backtracking to avoid crippling U.S. space operations.

The feud’s repercussions are far-reaching. Tesla’s stock plunged 14.3% on June 5, erasing roughly $150 billion in market value, as investors braced for potential fallout from Trump’s tariff policies and contract threats.

The rift has also strained Republican unity, with House members caught between loyalty to Trump and Musk’s financial influence through his super PAC.

Representative Troy Nehls called Musk’s attacks “irresponsible,” while others, like Representative Gabe Evans, expressed hope for reconciliation.

In the Senate, Musk’s opposition could tip the scales against the bill, already facing skepticism from fiscal hawks like Senators Rand Paul and Mike Lee.

Nonpartisan analyses warn that the bill’s deficit expansion, combined with Trump’s tariffs, risks economic turmoil, potentially triggering a recession by late 2025, as Musk has cautioned.

Elon Musk Resigns from Trump Administration

by Nelson Ugwuagbo May 29, 2025
written by Nelson Ugwuagbo

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has formally announced his departure from President Donald Trump’s administration, where he served as a senior advisor and de facto head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Musk, who was appointed to the role in November 2024, made the announcement on Wednesday night via a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating that his term as a Special Government Employee had come to an end.

“As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending,” Musk wrote. “@DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.”

Reuters reports that Musk exited the administration without holding a formal conversation with President Trump. His resignation came just hours after he publicly criticized the president’s newly introduced tax bill on Tuesday.

No official statement has been released by the White House regarding Musk’s departure.

Trump Challenges South African President on White Farmer Killings in Tense White House Meeting

by Nelson Ugwuagbo May 22, 2025
written by Nelson Ugwuagbo

In a tense Oval Office meeting on Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump confronted South African President Cyril Ramaphosa with claims of a “genocide” against white Afrikaner farmers, escalating tensions between the two nations.

Trump dimmed the lights to play a video showing crosses he claimed marked the graves of over 1,000 murdered white farmers and displayed news articles to support his allegations of widespread violence. Ramaphosa, maintaining composure, firmly denied the claims, asserting that South Africa faces a general crime problem, not a racially motivated targeting of white farmers.

The exchange, broadcast live, ignited a firestorm of reactions on X, with users divided over Trump’s accusations and Ramaphosa’s response.

Trump’s video, which included footage of opposition politician Julius Malema chanting “Kill the Boer, kill the farmer” at a rally, was presented as evidence of persecution.

He also referenced a 2024 South African land reform law, claiming it enables land seizures from white farmers without compensation. Ramaphosa countered that the chants do not reflect government policy and that the law aims to address historical apartheid-era inequalities, not target any racial group.

“There is criminality in our country. People who do get killed, unfortunately through criminal activity, are not only white people, the majority of them are Black people,” Ramaphosa stated, citing South African police data showing 26,232 murders in 2024, with only 44 linked to farming communities, eight of whom were farmers.

The video Trump showed, later revealed to depict a 2020 protest in KwaZulu-Natal with crosses commemorating farm murder victims, not actual graves, drew sharp criticism. South African officials, including Agriculture Minister John Steenhuisen, emphasized that crime affects all South Africans, with most victims being Black.

Ramaphosa’s calm rebuttal, invoking Nelson Mandela’s call for dialogue, was praised by some as dignified. “I really want to congratulate the president of South Africa for keeping composure,” said Land Reform Minister Mzwanele Nyhontso.

The meeting, initially aimed at resetting U.S.-South Africa trade relations, was overshadowed by Trump’s focus on white farmers, a topic he’s raised since 2018. His recent executive order cutting U.S. aid to South Africa and granting asylum to 59 Afrikaners fueled the controversy.

Ramaphosa, accompanied by golfers Ernie Els and Retief Goosen to appeal to Trump’s interests, left the White House emphasizing trade talks, but the confrontation dominated global headlines.

South Africa’s high crime rate, with a 2023 murder rate of 45 per 100,000, remains a challenge, but experts and courts, including a 2025 Western Cape High Court ruling, dismiss “white genocide” claims as “clearly imagined.”

The clash has strained U.S.-South Africa relations, with Ramaphosa’s team now tasked with navigating trade negotiations amid looming U.S. tariffs set to hit South African exports in July

JUST IN: President Trump officially withdraws United States from the World Health Organization

by Folarin Kehinde January 21, 2025
written by Folarin Kehinde

President Donald Trump is pulling the U.S. out of the World Health Organization for a second time, the White House announced late Monday.

The day-one executive order fulfills Trump’s campaign promise to reject global institutions. Health experts worry it isolates the U.S. with consequences for pandemic and disease response and diplomatic relations worldwide.

The U.S. is and has historically been the largest funder of the global health agency headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. WHO, part of the United Nations, is tasked with preparing for and fighting health emergencies. The U.S. has strongly influenced the agency since its founding after World War II.

Trump criticized WHO for its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, even as his administration faced scrutiny for being slow to respond to the crisis. In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, he began the process of pulling out from WHO.

In sweeping orders, Trump aims to remake federal policy on border, gender, climate change

Despite his promise, he failed to do so under U.S. law governing the timeline for withdrawal and funding obligations to the agency. Former President Joe Biden reversed Trump’s decision after taking office and restored funding to WHO.

Trump threatens mass deportation of all illegal migrants into US

by Folarin Kehinde January 20, 2025
written by Folarin Kehinde

US President Donald Trump has promised to deport millions of “criminal aliens” who illegally gain entry into America.

The 47th United States leader made this known in his inaugural speech on Monday after he was sworn in to succeed Joe Biden.

“All illegal entries will immediately be halted and we will begin the process of returning millions of millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came,” Trump declared before four past presidents including Biden.

“We will reinstate my ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy,” he said, vowing to “rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America”.

Trump, who was sworn in alongside his deputy, 40-year-old JD Vance, promised that America “will not forget our God” during his administration. He promised to “bring free speech back to America”.

Trump, 78, was a political outsider at his first inauguration in 2017 as the 45th president, but this time around he is surrounded by America’s wealthy and powerful.

The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon chief Jeff Bezos and Google CEO Sundar Pichai all had prime seats in the Capitol alongside Trump’s family and cabinet members.

While Trump refused to attend Biden’s 2021 inauguration after falsely claiming electoral fraud by the Democrat, this time Biden has been keen to restore the sense of tradition.

Biden joined former presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton at the Capitol. Former first ladies Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush were there but ex-first lady Michelle Obama pointedly stayed away.
