Suspected dare-devil men of the underworld on Tuesday evening struck at the popular Abdullahi Supermarket in One Man Village, near Mararaba in Nasarawa State, killing four customers, including a staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

The CBN staff identified through his identity card as Daniel Adefemi Okunade was shot in the head and died immediately.

Three others gruesomely murdered along with him could not be identified as of the time of this report.

An eyewitness account said that the robbery operation lasted less than two minutes during which the CBN staff, who is said to be the choir master of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) also in One Man Village, was gunned down.

He was said to have had a stop over at the Supermarket to buy bread for his family when the robbers found their way into the ever busy store and took lives out of the four customers.

His Toyota Venza Car parked outside the Supermarket was not touched by the men of the underworld.

The late Okunade was said to be returning from work when he met his untimely death in the hands of the suspected robbers.

At the time of this report, the atmosphere in the area was tense as people kept trooping into the Supermarket to identify the robbery victims.

Meanwhile, police operatives from New Nyayan Divisional Police Station have moved the corpse of the robbery victims to the Mararaba Medical Center mortuary in Mararaba.

No information has yet been made public by the police on the incident.

However, hundreds of sympathizers, including church members, have been trooping to the house of the late CBN staff to sympathize with his family.

  • FCT Senatorial Seat: Why Ndigbo should rally around Senator Philip Aduda’s Candidacy Ndigbo resident in the Federal Capital Territory have been called upon to support the candidacy of Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda come 2027. Speaking during an interactive session with Igbo Nation Stakeholders in Abuja, Mr Iheoma Shedrack said supporting Senator Philip Aduda would positively benefit the Ndigbo resident in Abuja. He described Distinguished Senator Aduda as approachable, obliging, accessible and has the right button to press to get things done. Mr Shedrack shared an encounter he had with Senator Aduda some years back, when Aduda was serving as a Senator representing the FCT. He said he once challenged Senator Aduda to prove he was a Senator representing the interest of all residents in Abuja irrespective of their region. He said what he uncovered about Senator Aduda’s antecedents and leadership philosophy was something to write home about. “Some years ago, I reached out to Senator Aduda on the phone and challenged him to show his achievements as proof he was representing the interest of Abuja residents from other geo-political regions. Senator Aduda, after listening, promised to get back. A few days afterwards, he called me through one of his aides and handed over some documented evidence of all his achievements within the federal capital territory, Mr Shedrack said he insisted on physical inspection of those facilities; a request Senator Aduda obliged. “I told him that it was not enough to show me pictures of projects carried out in different places in Abuja; I requested for physical visits to those project sites. I told him I would want to embark on that visit in the company of other comrades and stakeholders, including the media. A few days afterwards, his staff called that Senator Philip Aduda would be available the following week for project inspection as requested. We embarked on project inspection tour that lasted days, including visits to very rural and isolated places within the federal capital territory. Mr Shedrack said that what he saw on the ground dumbfounded him. He said that Senator Philip Aduda had a team that interfaced with residents and stakeholders, cutting across all the area councils. This team met with the people in rural areas, in some cases, isolated areas, in a view to identifying their needs. They related same to Senator Aduda, who in turn activated the mechanism and contacts needed to get the needs of the people met. “It was during the project inspection that I had firsthand information that most of Senator Aduda’s projects are located where the real need exists. I had interactions with the people, and I found out there is a connection between him and those who legitimize his candidacy. That man knows the right button to press to get stuff done. Mr Shedrack said that another opportunity has come for Ndigbo to redeem their place in the scheme of things within the Federal Capital Territory by aligning with Senator Aduda come the next election by voting for him as the next senatorial candidate representing the Federal Capital Territory.
