“I still live with my mom. In our culture, we grew up in our own family home, we support our parents.

Nigeria’s Omo-Agege Emerges Interim President of African Boxing Confederation

by Folarin Kehinde August 10, 2023
written by Folarin Kehinde

The Vice President of the African Boxing Confederation (AFBC), Hon. Azania Omo-Agege Siena, has emerged as the interim president of the African Boxing body.

Omo-Agege whose rising profile in continental and global boxing knows no bounds, replaced the ousted president of AFBC, Bertrand Mendouga, 62, from Cameroon who was among others, accused of high-handedness and lack of foresight in running the affairs of the African body..

Mendouga was forced out of office on 6 August, 2023, in front of IBA President, Umar Kremlev during the AFBC’s Exco meeting in Yaounde, Cameroon.

This follows the tension at the Cameroon Boxing Federation (FECABOXE) which forced the postponement of the African Boxing Championship in Yaounde that ended yesterday.

The unholy shift in date forced a number of eligible countries who had earlier bought airline tickets for the previous date of the championship but were unable to use it after the postponement, not to participate. Thus loosing their money and Mendouga adamantly refused to refund their money..

It was also revealed that the ousted AFBC president did a lot of damage to Fecaboxe which the Cameroonian Government is investigating and has appointed a Nomalization Committee to reshape things.

As the AFBC’s Interim President, Azania Omo-Agege Siena who is also the Vice President of the Nigeria Boxing Federation(NBF), will be in charge of African boxing affairs pending the election of a new president which he is also eligible to contest if he wishes.

Transfer: Victor Osimen Preferable for Chelsea than Manchester – CEO, Brila Media

by Folarin Kehinde February 13, 2023
written by Folarin Kehinde

The Chairman CEO Brila Media, Dr Larry Isamoje popularly known as Coachy has had his take on the transfer speculations of Victor Osimen from Napoli to the English Premier League. Either to Chelsea or Manchester United who are both in the race for the services of the hot inform Nigerian Napoli striker.

Speaking on radio, Brila FM on the show, No holds Barred” with Ifeanyi Udeze an ex International of the super eagles who is also one of the OAPs of Brila FM Dr Larry Isamoje said, ” If you want my honest and sincere opinion of where Victor Osimen should go between Chelsea and Manchester United, I would say he should go to Chelsea.

“Chelsea jut signed one of the best midfielders currently in Europe and for a British record transfer fee of £107m, Enzo Fernandez, who is so gifted on the ball that whenever he’s with the ball he looks vertically first which is where Victor Osimen would be positioned.

“He could also look horizontally where Chelsea have also strengthened during the last January transfer window where you have Noni Madueke, Mykhaylo Mudryk and João Felix on loan from Athletico Madrid blistering from the middle.

“Victor Osimen will also look at Chelsea and all former Nigerian and African players that have succeeded in the club to be an extra motivation. Examples are Didier Drogba, John Obi Mikel, Micheal Essien, Solomon Kalou and a host of others.

Even in this current Chelsea team is Noni Madueke, a Nigerian who he can easily relate with and even speak pigin English when necessary. Kai Havertz is Chelsea’s main striker this season and can be easily displaced by Victor Osimen unlike Manchester United where Marcus Rashford is in the form of his life.

“Marcus Rashford is also an English player, whom Osimen would need a miracle to displaced from that position at the moment. Also Manchester United just bought a forward who is from the same country with the manager of Manchester United.

“Let’s be honest, Eric Ten Hag(Manchester United manager) might play politics on who to play among the two knowing fully well his country man is involved”.

Adding his own view, another Nigerian ex International, Victor Agali who was also a guest on the show said, ” He would advise Victor to still remain at Napoli and still enjoying his football than moving but also said Chelsea has the best midfield than can play to Victor Osimen’s strength”.

As the summer transfer window will open in June, it remains to be seen where Victor Osimen would end up playing next season.

Napoli FC would do everything possible to convince him to stay with them perhaps for another season. Give and take, the choice is still down to Victor Osimen’s final decision but one thing is sure, Victor Osimen won’t go for cheap. Whichever club that needs his services must cough out over a £100m for Napoli.

BREAKING:Lionel Messi Hands Argentina Third World Cup Win To Put ‘GOAT’ Debate To Rest

by Folarin Kehinde December 18, 2022
written by Folarin Kehinde

An exceptional performance from Lionel Messi handed Argentina their third world against defending champions France.

The thrilling World Cup final produced six goals – the highest ever – as the European side fought back every time they trailed Argentina forcing the match to go into penalties.

Mbappe’s brilliant perfomance counted for nothing at the end as the French side missed two kicks in the penalty shootout

Messi scored a brace and opened the penalty round with a beautiful strike to give his side a much-needed mental advantage.

Subsequently, Emiliano Martinez saved Kingsley Coman’s kick before Aurelien Touchameni played wide to hand Argentina the win on a platter of gold.

Messi had opened the scoring for Argentina with a low footed strike from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute, moments later Angel Di Maria doubled the lead after converting MacAllister’s pass.

However in the 2nd half, the defending champions found their footing as they score two quick goals via Kylian Mbappe.

The PSG forward initially scored a penalty after Nicolas Otamendi brought down Muani in the 18 yard box.

The match which produced a number of brilliant scoring opportunities on both sides went into extra time.

Argentina appeared to have sealed the victory in the 2nd half of extra time after Messi’s beautiful right footed strike went straight to the net. But Mbappe came to the rescue again with a penalty just two minutes to the end of the match forcing the match into penalties.

With the World Cup win, Lionel Messi’s rivalry with Portugal’s Christiano Ronaldo over the ‘greatest footballer of all time’ spot appears to be settled.

Messi has now won all possible titles in top flight football including several league titles, UEFA Champions league, Club World Cup, Copa America and the FIFA World Cup.

The Argentine striker also has seven balon d’or titles against Ronaldo’s five.

Earlier, Chile defeated New Zealand 3-1 in their opening group game. The South Americans will now play against Germany in their second game later today.
