The Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Mojisola Adeyeye, has warned that manufacturers flouting the ban on sachet alcohol production will face serious consequences.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Thursday, Adeyeye condemned the continued production of sachet alcoholic beverages by some manufacturers despite repeated warnings and ample time given to comply with the directive.
She said the agency had observed persistent violations of the ban by some companies, describing their actions as a blatant disregard for established regulations.
The NAFDAC boss stressed that the agency would no longer tolerate non-compliance, warning that sanctions were being considered against errant companies and individuals involved in the illegal production of sachet alcohol.
