The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the release of results for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, a total of 179,201 candidates registered for the examination, which covered 12 subjects.

While the statement did not disclose the candidates’ performance, it confirmed that the examination was conducted from May 12 to May 23, 2025.

Sani noted that the release of the results followed the successful conclusion of the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting held at the Council’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State.

The chairperson of the Award Committee, Dr Folake Olatunji David, who is also the Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, expressed satisfaction with the processes that led to the release of the results.

The meeting was attended by NECO management officials and several secondary school principals from across the country.
