NANS to Hold North-East Solidarity Protest Over Abduction of 42 Borno Students

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone E (North-East), has announced plans to stage a peaceful solidarity protest over the abduction of 42 students from Government Day Secondary School, Mussa, in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.
The demonstration, scheduled to take place from June 5 to June 7, will be held simultaneously across the North-East states of Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa and Taraba.
The planned protest was disclosed in a notice issued by the Chief of Staff to the NANS Zone E Coordinator, Lukman Yusuf. According to the statement, the action is aimed at drawing national attention to the plight of the abducted students and calling for intensified efforts to secure their safe release.
NANS also urged the Federal Government to strengthen security measures in schools and other educational institutions to prevent future attacks and ensure the safety of students across the country.
The association directed its structures throughout the North-East, including Joint Campus Committee leaders, Students’ Union Government executives, delegates and other stakeholders, to mobilise members for the protest while maintaining peace and order during the exercise.
Speaking on the development, the Zonal Coordinator of NANS Zone E, Comrade Muazu Hina, reaffirmed the association’s commitment to advocating for the safe return of the abducted students and improved security for learners nationwide.
