President Bola Tinubu has officially inaugurated the 2024 main Christian pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan.

The announcement was made in a statement by the Deputy Director and Head of Media and Public Relations, Celestine Toruka, shared via the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission’s (NCPC) official X handle, #NGChrisPilgComm, on Monday.

The flag-off ceremony took place on Sunday at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State. Representing the president at the event, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, encouraged pilgrims to view the journey as an opportunity to deepen their faith.

Akume highlighted the theme for the 2024 pilgrimage, “Pilgrimage of Renewed Hope for Total Restoration,” noting its alignment with the Tinubu administration’s vision and agenda.

He called on the pilgrims to pray for Nigeria, Lagos State, and their families, while urging them to remain law-abiding and not abscond during their stay in the Holy Land. Akume reiterated the president’s admonition that Nigeria remains their home and there is no better place to be.
