Athletes from all over the world including Nigeria will be in Paris, France for the 2024 Olympic games which is scheduled to hold from 26th July to 11 August.
A total of 88 athletes are expected to represent Nigeria in different sports during the competition.
LeadingReporters found out that Team Nigeria will compete in the following sporting events:
Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Canoeing, Cycling, Football, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Weightlifting and Wrestling.
The Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh has called on well meaning Nigerians to support the Nigerian team throughout the games.
“Our athletes are putting in tremendous effort and dedication in their preparations,” said Enoh in a statement by Diana-Mary Nsan, S.A. Media to the Honourable Minister of Sports Development”.
“We are confident that with the support of every Nigerian, our team will excel and make the nation proud.”
The Nigerian contingent encompasses talented and world-class athletes such as Oluwatobiloba Amusan, Ese Brume, Blessing Oborodudu, Odunayo Adekouroye, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, Aruna Quadri, among other names too numerous to mention.
