Eti Osa: Banky W loses to Attah of LP

by Folarin Kehinde February 27, 2023
written by Folarin Kehinde

Social media users are reacting to singer, Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W’s election loss to Attah.

It is no longer news that the “Yes or No” singer lost Eti-Osa Federal constituency seat to Labour Party candidate, Thaddeus Attah.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Attah as the winner of the Eti-Osa Federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

According to Prof Funmilayo Odukoya, who is INEC Returning Officer, Attah pulled a total of 24,075 votes to defeat his rival, Banky W of the People Democratic Party (PDP) who gathered 18,666 votes, and Mr Babajide Obanikoro of APC, who had 16,901 votes.

Reacting to it, many social media users opined that Banky W’s choice of party is to be partially blamed for his loss.

According to them, if Banky W had camped with Labour Party, there are higher chances of him winning the election.

One wild flower wrote, “Banky is a casualty of PDP’s reputation. He would have joined LP

One Blessing Imuekemhe wrote, “It’s a pity… Peter Obi’s influence and Grace is what made Attah win..Most persons just punched the LP logo through out forgetting that Banky W is also a candidate for House of Rep in Lagos State

One Mreniola wrote, “Everybody just voted LP on 3 papers without knowing who it was

One Omo Sammy wrote, “Most people just printed LP on all papers as they don’t know who is the senatorial candidate

One Shola Ijanusi wrote, “Being at the right place at the right time… situation

One Freeman Chidiebere wrote, “It was there for him to take but the Labor Party factor affected his chances

One t2oluxury wrote, “Chai if Banky W knew. They just voted for LP on the ballot.
