An officer of the Department of the State Security Services DSS in Kwara State, Mr. Usman Mohammed Saba has regained his freedom, LeadingReporters was reliably informed.

Mr Saba was kidnapped on Wednesday, around 8p.m. in his compound in Wara, Ilorin West Local Government, Kwara State.  The kidnappers were said to have trailed him to his house and picked him up when he was trying to drive into his compound.

The kidnappers were said to have arrived in Nigeria Army uniform.  The hoodlums as well tried to kidnap Mr. Saba’s son who raised alarm when they were forcing his father out of his vehicle.

The young boy quickly ran into the house and locked himself from behind, while calling for help for his father.

The officer was quickly moved out and taken away with a vehicle parked a little distant from the compound of the victim.

Meanwhile, a family source who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity said that the kidnappers reached out and demanded for N50m ransom before Mr. Saba could be released.

It was not known whether the family paid the ransom before Mr. Sabo was released.
