Prof. Ngozi Egbuna’s Book Earns Global Recognition From WTO Director-General Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala

The Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has recognised the scholarly contribution of the Director of the International Centre for Regional Integration and Trade Research (ICRITR), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Ngozi Egbuna, by featuring her book in a post on X.

Dr. Okonjo-Iweala showcased ECOWAS Regional Integration: The West African Monetary Zone Experience alongside another publication by a fellow member of the WTO Academic Chairs Programme, describing both authors as outstanding women trade experts and expressing pride in their contributions to trade scholarship.

Professor Egbuna, Nigeria’s first WTO Chair under the WTO Chairs Programme (WCP), is a Visiting Professor of International Banking, Finance and Trade at Nnamdi Azikiwe University and former Director-General of the West African Monetary Institute (WAMI).

The recognition comes as another milestone in Professor Egbuna’s distinguished academic and professional career, further affirming her contributions to regional integration, international trade and policy research through ICRITR and the WTO Chairs Programme in Nigeria.
