The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of a notorious kidnapping syndicate in the state. The arrests were confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by the command’s spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan.

According to Hassan, the suspects were apprehended on Tuesday in an intelligence-led operation, during which officers recovered an AK-47 rifle with an empty magazine.

“During interrogation, all three suspects admitted to being members of a kidnapping syndicate responsible for terrorizing the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway,” Hassan stated. He noted that the group has been linked to multiple violent incidents across the region, which have raised security concerns for residents and travelers.

Hassan added that the suspects are cooperating with the police and have provided crucial information that could lead to the arrest of additional syndicate members and recovery of more firearms.

The operation underscores ongoing efforts by the Kaduna State Police Command to curb kidnapping and enhance safety along key routes in the state.
