France Government about to collapse as Marie le Pen reportedly take charge

by Folarin Kehinde December 1, 2024
written by Folarin Kehinde

France is reportedly in utter turmoil and it seems the person in control is Marie le Pen, very much in control in a country where you see now in a country where 53% of the public want prime minister michel Barnier’s government to fall.

His proposed budget is been debated and discussed and 67% of the country has oppossed the budget which consist of 60 billion euros in tax hikes and spending cuts and france is in such a situation where citizens are been asked to work for free.

Marie le pen is now essentially the King Maker in terms of french politics. She and her party would decide if this Barnier government collapses or survives. As you can see now, the screws are been turned big time on Barnier with Le Pen saying that he has until this monday, demand concessions in return for her party’s support. Barniers options are running out with the french socialist rejecting any prospects of backing his budget.

Barnier now has to turn and rely on Le Pen’s support to pass the budget and for his government to survive. But how likely is that as some of Le Pen’s recent comment is that the budget is bad, unjust and violent. Former French interior minister, Gerald Darmanian has asked the prime minister to find common ground with the National Rally Party and it’s 11 million voters.

So that is the situation now, we would see if this budget and current french government survives based on the decision of Marie Le Pen.

Israel, Hezbollah Agree on 60 days Cease Fire

by Nelson Ugwuagbo November 27, 2024
written by Nelson Ugwuagbo

Israel and the Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah have reached a 60-day ceasefire agreement, marking a significant step toward de-escalation in the region.

U.S. President Joe Biden, commenting on the development, said the deal could pave the way for a “permanent cessation of hostilities.” He also stated that the U.S. would spearhead efforts for a similar ceasefire in Gaza.

Negotiators have described the agreement as a potential foundation for a lasting truce between the two sides.

As part of the deal, Hezbollah fighters are expected to withdraw 40 kilometers from Israel’s border, while Israeli ground forces will retreat from Lebanese territory.

The ceasefire comes in the wake of intense violence. Just hours before the agreement, Israeli forces launched 20 airstrikes on Beirut’s southern border within two minutes. Hezbollah, in turn, claimed responsibility for deploying drones toward Israel.

Tuesday’s Israeli strikes in Lebanon resulted in the deaths of 25 people.

Despite the agreement, Israel has advised residents displaced by the fighting to delay returning to their homes in Lebanon, citing ongoing concerns.

China Discovers Massive Gold Reserves in Hunan

by Leading Reporters November 24, 2024
written by Leading Reporters

China has uncovered a significant gold deposit in Hunan province, valued at an estimated $83 billion. The discovery, made in Pingjiang County, includes over 40 gold ore veins found more than 2,000 meters underground.

Preliminary studies have identified 300.2 tons of gold in the core exploration area, with the highest-grade samples containing up to 138 grams of gold per metric ton. Experts predict the site could hold over 1,000 tons of gold reserves at greater depths, exceeding 3,000 meters.

China’s gold reserves

The discovery highlights China’s position as the world’s largest gold producer, accounting for 10% of global output in 2023, according to the World Gold Council. However, despite its production dominance, China consumes far more gold than it produces.

In the first nine months of 2023, the country consumed 741 metric tons of gold, while domestic mines produced only 268 tons. This shortfall has made China increasingly reliant on imports to meet its demand for jewelry, technology, and other industries.

Gold reserves, such as the one in Hunan, refer to deposits that can be mined profitably. These discoveries are crucial for a nation heavily dependent on gold imports, as they reduce reliance on foreign markets and strengthen domestic resources.

Gold Prices Surge Amid Global Tensions

Gold prices have experienced a sharp rise this year, driven by escalating geopolitical tensions worldwide. On October 30, 2024 the most actively traded gold futures contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange reached a record high of 639.48 yuan per gram.

By Thursday’s close, the contract traded at 617.7 yuan per gram, marking a 27.8% increase since the start of 2023. The ongoing rise reflects growing investor interest in gold as a safe-haven asset during times of uncertainty.

At current exchange rates, one U.S. dollar equals 7.2383 yuan, further emphasizing the significant value of gold in both domestic and international markets.

The strategic importance of the discovery

The Hunan discovery could play a role in addressing China’s gold supply challenges. With a widening gap between production and consumption, the reserve is expected to boost the country’s ability to meet its own gold needs.

Analysts believe that tapping into such deposits will also help stabilize the domestic market and reduce dependence on volatile global gold prices.

The Pingjiang County site is one of the deepest gold discoveries in China. Its rich veins and high-grade ore samples highlight the potential for significant economic gains. However, extracting gold from such depths poses technical and logistical challenges, requiring advanced mining techniques and substantial investment.

The gold reserves found in Hunan represent a pivotal moment for China’s resource management and economic strategy, opening new opportunities to strengthen its position in the global and local precious metals market.

Ford announces 4,000 Job Cut In Europe

by Folarin Kehinde November 20, 2024
written by Folarin Kehinde

US car giant Ford on Wednesday announced 4,000 more job cuts in Europe, mostly in Germany and Britain, in the latest blow to the continent’s beleaguered car industry.

“The company has incurred significant losses in recent years,” Ford said in a statement, blaming “the industry shift to electrified vehicles and new competition”.

The move will affect 2,900 jobs in Germany, 800 in the UK and 300 in western Europe by the end of 2027, a Ford spokesman told AFP.

“It is critical to take difficult but decisive action to ensure Ford’s future competitiveness in Europe,” said Dave Johnston, Ford’s European vice-president in the statement.

The company also said it was adjusting the production of its Explorer and Capri models, resulting in reduced hours at its Cologne plant in the first quarter of 2025.

Europe’s car industry has been plunged into crisis by high manufacturing costs, a stuttering switch to electric vehicles and increased competition in key market China.

Germany’s Volkswagen has been among those hardest hit, announcing in September that it was considering the unprecedented move of closing some factories in Germany.

“The European automotive industry is in a very demanding and serious situation,” Volkswagen CEO Oliver Blume said at the time.

Ford had already announced in February 2023 that it was planning to cut 3,800 jobs in Europe, including 2,300 in Germany and 1,300 in Britain.

Norway crown princess son arrested for rape, abuse

by Folarin Kehinde November 20, 2024
written by Folarin Kehinde

Marius Hoiby, the 27-year-old son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, was arrested on Monday in Oslo on multiple charges, including rape and abuse.

Police in the capital confirmed the arrest, with the charge relating to “sexual intercourse with someone who is unconscious or for other reasons is unable to resist the act.”

Alongside this charge, Hoiby faces additional accusations of “abuse in close relationships,” breaching a restraining order, and driving without a valid driver’s licence, NBC News reports.

The charges stem from an ongoing inquiry into alleged abuse involving four women.

The Royal Palace has declined to comment on the matter, referring all inquiries to law enforcement and Hoiby’s defence team.

His attorney, Oyvind Bratlien, confirmed that his client denies the rape accusation but is cooperating with authorities.

The arrest followed a series of troubling incidents involving Hoiby.

In August, he was involved in a violent altercation in Oslo’s Frogner district, where he admitted to bodily harm and property damage. He also pleaded guilty to issuing a death threat in a separate case.

Hoiby’s arrest came after a violent incident earlier this year in which he apologised for his actions, attributing them to a combination of alcohol and drug use during an argument.

He also acknowledged mental health struggles, pledging to seek treatment.

While not officially part of the Norwegian royal family, Hoiby has been a public figure in the royal circle since his mother’s marriage to Crown Prince Haakon in 2001.

He has attended royal events and lived on royal property with his family.

Despite past media appearances, including a feature in Vogue and roles in Norwegian television, Hoiby’s recent controversies have overshadowed his public persona.

The investigation remains ongoing, and Hoiby’s legal future will depend on the outcome of the criminal proceedings.

Trump Appoints Elon Musk to Key Administrative Role

by Folarin Kehinde November 13, 2024
written by Folarin Kehinde

President-elect Donald Trump has appointed billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to head the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Their mission is clear: reduce bureaucracy, eliminate waste, and streamline federal agencies to enhance economic growth and accountability in Washington.

Trump described DOGE as a potential “Manhattan Project” for the 21st century, aiming to overhaul a government budget that exceeds $6.5 trillion annually.

He emphasised that Musk and Ramaswamy, both known for their outsider perspectives and business expertise, would bring fresh, entrepreneurial ideas to Washington.

“Musk and Ramaswamy will provide advice and guidance from outside the government, working alongside the White House and Office of Management and Budget,” Trump said. “They will create an entrepreneurial approach to government that has never been seen before.”

The president-elect stressed that the initiative’s primary goal is to reduce government spending while increasing operational efficiency.

“They will work together to liberate our economy and make the U.S. government accountable to ‘We The People,’” Trump added.

The new department is set to reshape Washington by focusing on cutting unnecessary regulations and driving large-scale reforms.

The success of the DOGE will have significant implications for U.S. politics and public policy, marking a bold step toward a more efficient federal government.

Israel Launches Air Strikes On Iran, Saudi Arabia Reacts

by Folarin Kehinde October 26, 2024
written by Folarin Kehinde

In a significant escalation of hostilities, Israel announced “precise strikes” on military targets in Iran on Saturday, following months of missile attacks from Tehran.

An AFP journalist in Tehran reported hearing multiple explosions as the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) declared that the strikes were in response to continuous aggression from the Iranian regime.

“In response to months of continuous attacks from the regime in Iran against the State of Israel, the IDF is conducting precise strikes on military targets in Iran,” the military stated.

This operation follows a missile strike from Iran on October 1, with Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant vowing a “deadly, precise and surprising” response.

The backdrop to this conflict includes the deadliest attack in Israel’s history on October 7, 2023, which resulted in the deaths of 1,206 individuals, predominantly civilians.

Israel’s military efforts have since expanded to include operations against Iranian-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon to secure its northern border.

Military spokesman Daniel Hagari urged citizens to remain “alert and vigilant” amid escalating tensions.

Iran’s October 1 strike, the second direct assault on Israel, followed an Israeli air raid that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Revolutionary Guards general Abbas Nilforoushan on September 27.

In response to Israel’s military actions, Saudi Arabia condemned the strikes, emphasising its “firm position rejecting escalation” in the region, which threatens the security and stability of Middle Eastern nations.

The Saudi foreign ministry reiterated the need for restraint to prevent further conflict.

Zimbabwe moves to kill 200 elephants to feed hungry residents

by Folarin Kehinde September 17, 2024
written by Folarin Kehinde

The Zimbabwean government has approved the slaughter of 200 elephants to feed hungry citizens.

A spokesperson for the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Authority, Tinashe Farawo, confirmed the development to CNN on Monday.

“We are targeting to cull 200 elephants,” Farawo said, lamenting rising cases of elephant-human conflict amid lingering food insecurity caused by severe drought in the East African country.

He added: “The animals are causing a lot of havoc in communities, killing people. Last week, we lost a woman in the northern part of the country who was killed by an elephant. The previous week, the same thing happened. So it (the culling) is also a way of controlling.”

According to local media, this year, over 30 persons have been killed in different wildlife-human conflicts in Zimbabwe.

Reuters quoted Farawo to have said the culling is also part of the country’s efforts to decongest its parks, which can only sustain 55,000 elephants. Zimbabwe is home to over 84,000 elephants.

“It’s an effort to decongest the parks in the face of drought. The numbers are just a drop in the ocean because we are talking of 200 (elephants) and we are sitting on plus 84,000, which is big,” he said.

The United Nations estimated over seven million to be at risk of acute hunger in Zimbabwe, declaring the East African country “as one of the hunger hotspots.”

In a statement in early August, UN said: “A new report from the UN aid coordination office (OCHA) reveals that food insecurity levels in Zimbabwe are rapidly deteriorating after it was hit with historic droughts due to the El Niño weather pattern,”

Zimbabwe’s planned culling of elephants comes weeks after the Namibian government adopted the same measure to tackle potential food insecurity and potential wildlife-human conflict as drought bites harder.

by Folarin Kehinde September 13, 2024

The UK’s Minister of State for Policing, Fire and Crime Prevention, Dame Diana Johnson, was a victim of theft when her purse was stolen during a policing conference, the BBC reports on Thursday.

The minister was said to be speaking at the Police Superintendents’ Association conference on Tuesday about the growing problems of antisocial behaviour, theft and shoplifting when her purse was stolen.

“Enquiries are ongoing. A 56-year-old man from Coventry has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.”

Shock! As Chinese Communist Party Govt move to rewrite the Bible, ‘Brainwash Christians’

by Folarin Kehinde August 27, 2024
written by Folarin Kehinde

In a shocking video widely circulated on YouTube, attempt has begun with the rewriting of the Bible by Chinese Communist Party Government, a move aimed at changing the original narrative of incidences in the Bible and portrayal of Jesus Christ.

The communist party of China wants to rewrite the Bible and force their version on Chinese Christians.
One of the changes in this new version turns Jesus Christ into a murderer.

According to report, Chinese govt persecution of Christians has led to more church growth, with China having as many as 130 million Christians in their underground church.

This has caused the communist party of China to now target the Bible itself with what it calls an “An update with Socialist values”.

The new Bible remove passages that don’t agree with communist beliefs. This is intended to confuse Chinese people and prevent them from becoming Christians.

One example of their revision in a high school textbook is John 8: 7-11 the story about the woman caught in adultery. “Jesus said to the angry crowd who were about to cast a stone on the woman who had sinned, Jesus said to the crowd, let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

“When the words came to their ears, they stopped moving forward. When everyone went out, Jesus stones the woman himself and said, I am also a sinner”.

The communist party is against Christian and the Bible because they see it as a tool that will take control away from them. Hence they force millions of Children to renounce their faith in public and delete all authentic Bibles from their app stores.

However, the Christians in China are resolute in their faith in Christ. According to one pastor of the underground Church in China, “the communist party have chosen an enemy(Jesus Christ) that can never be imprisoned, but they are doomed to lose”.

The second is a report that Chinese Communist Party authorities in Henan province “forced Protestant churches to replace the Ten Commandments with Xi Jinping quotes,” changing the first commandment from, “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me,” (Exodus 20:3, KJV) to, “Resolutely guard against the infiltration of Western ideology.”

Two Christian pastors at the Congressional meeting testified on persecution in China, noting that many Chinese pastors and Christians are undeterred. International Christian Concern (ICC) recently published a report describing the growth of the underground church in Iran, where government repression seems to cause the church to grow rather than stifle it. As the early church father Tertullian wrote, “the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church.”
