The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria has distanced itself from a malicious publication on some social media, including a media platform called “TODAY” where it was claimed that RTEAN decried negligence by President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC government via a letter purportedly written to the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi.
For avoidance of doubt, none of the signatories to the said letter is a member of RTEAN. Both the so-called Mandate President Alhaji Chief Abubakar O. Sodiq and National Secretary General and Chairman, Political Committee Comrade Abdullahi Jabi are not members of RTEAN but faceless mischief makers who want to drag the reputation of the Association to the mud. These mischief makers have been going about their fraudulent activities in a view to tarnish the hard earned image of the National President of RTEAN Alhaji Musa Shehu Isiwele and his Executive Members both at the National Headquarters, Abuja and at all the 36 States of the Federation.
RTEAN therefore wishes to state as follows:
a. That the members of the public should disregard the said publication as it never emanated from the office of RTEAN but the handiwork of mischief makers whose stock in trade is to cause disaffection and confusion in the polity.
b. That the Alhaji Musa Shehu Isiwele-led RTEAN National Executive enjoys cordial relationship with the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari and his cabinet members.
c. That RTEAN is supportive of the President’s efforts at bettering the lot of Nigerians through pro-people policies and initiatives.
d. That RTEAN at the fore of contributing its quota to national development, peaceful co-existence and social cohesion among Nigerians have consistently trained and retrained its members across the nation on the virtues of patriotism, respect for constituted authorities, nonviolence and tolerance.
e. That RTEAN has a perennial reputation of partnering governments at all levels in their pro-peoples’ schemes targeted towards making life more meaningful for the citizenries.
f. RTEAN has briefed its legal team on the issue as a deterrent to those whose stock in trade borders around mischief making.
